BURGLARS BEWARE - dummy cameras!! +wasps nest lift alarm
That lift alarm looks like a wasps nest - I did test it, as it looked quite interesting - see near the end of the video :D
Forgot to mention that I filmed an old Schindler lift, which was the whole purpose for making this video. But I guess you've already found this out if you're currently watching it. Sorry to people that may have tuned in to see loads of dummy cameras and found a lift video instead.
AND SO CLOSE!!!! I'd love to see that motor room. I've filmed a few original Schindler motor rooms now, but one more to the collection would have been delicious - sadly it wasn't to be :( I think the door was 'key locked' as well as code locked!
Those dummy cameras you see in this video used to be advertised in Sunday magazines in the 90s. I remember the description "burglars think these are real" - yeah right!! Any camera that has a LED on the front of it that blinks one per second (to save the AA battery inside) is a dummy to start with - and THESE omg, are the worst of them! I think the batteries quit years ago on these!

What a lovely old Schindler! I'd absolutely love to find one of these lifts with R-series fixtures but they are very rare nowadays (and were always somewhat rare due to their expensive nature!)

Code looks like it is 3459. There is an angle where it looks like those numbers have a different finish than the rest of the numbers.

ryani999 He did another 2 videos and he said the combination contained the numbers 1, 4, 5, & 9. Spoiler alert: The motor room was beautiful.
Go back to the motor room and ring the number on the door and say you are an engineer or smash the glass and the code is on the sheet of paper inside the red thing on the wall

Wouldn't work! For a start it wasn't office hours, they would probably ring someone in the building (caretaker) who would have come up to let me in and find out why I was there and that piece of paper was an old tag that was on the key (probably before the code lock was fitted) - I looked :)

It is a little weird looking isn't it, which is why I had to press the lift alarm to hear it. I was hoping for a motorised siren like the world war II sirens, but I was a little disappointed with the result!!

Aidan Standing Aidan Standing Why can't I reply to "linked Comments?""". Anyway, Aidan, I found two of you on youtube, so hope i've got the right one somewhere (tagged). Yeah LOL, cameras don't have LEDs, and they especially don't blink every second. If there is an LED then it's either permenantly lit (which would be too much for any AA batteries) or some IP cameras (network) do have LEDs, but these are normally blinking really fast with network traffic. But, a SOLAR PANEL to run the LED and charge up the AA batteries is even more of a give away lol!!! HOWEVER, it fools some people though!

mrmattandmrchay Also, the code lock.... well people tend to choose numbers that "everyone can remember" and i've found that the codes can be as simple as 12345X, or 2468X, so just thought i'd try one to see if it worked - was kind of THINKING WHAT TO DO also, coz really wanted to see that motor room and knew it was almost the end of the road - no access

they are fake camera and supposed to fool people into thinking they are real. I can spot a dummy camera from a mile off!! THESE ONES I can spot from 10 miles away lol
