Really shows how much games have de-evolved in almost 40 years. The arcade game got you right into it and let you learn by doing. In this, the first five levels are an unskippable tutorial that teaches you all the same concepts as the original but at an agonizingly slow pace. And even after that, the gameplay doesn't get nearly as complex as level 1 of the original until like 20 levels in.

i was just thinking the same thing. everything about the game, from the overblown art but lifeless animation to the endless "unlockables" and frustratingly patronizing tutorials made me think about everything that's wrong with the industry

Definitely, Burger Time World Tour is 100 times better than this, the animation is so goddamn lazy and the gameplay just looks so boring.

This game is great once you get past the tutorial stages. In all honesty... I only play the Classic Mode (original game with the newer look), and it does justice to the original. Currently ranked 15th in the world lol. Im sure there aren't a lot of players, but still...

I think in one play-vid they include other non-pepper power-ups: "D drinks" give you speed, chili peppers give you fire breath (at the cost of only going left and right, can't use ladders and can only flame that which is front of you), and potato cakes/hash browns trap enemies in potato balls until they break out.

Music beginning and ending upgrade in modern way ♥️ for those ppl who ply burger time in 80's or 90's will appreciate it

Most players reacts by saying, "Where this game reminds me of Cuphead? And the music close like our childhood show called, Duck tales?"

Probably cuz of the art style, tho, this game still includes anime-like expressions, which impressed me since it somehow works with that flow of style. Not to mention how XSEED, the one that made Senran Kagura, Story of Seasons, Corpse Party, and Shantae, helped assist in publishing the game.

Can't use the d-pad is the deal breaker. That sucks. /-:

not really this game is horrible

I thought this game would be cool, but it starts off with zero difficulty and holds your hand like youre disabled, not even allowing you to discover how Burgertime works: by dropping ingredients on enemies and/or with ingredients on top. The first instance of this has a level structured to give the easiest way possible to execute this but has to force you to read what youre doing before the level anyway. Why do all game devs assume we’re just defiant or plain stupid? At least we can play burgertime deluxe

Amazing game

What I like of this Peter Pepper is he's younger & tougher looking & not taking no mess from his enemies : The Nasties! Make those Burgers, & continue to hit them with pepper, get them under & step off those ingredients make them fall! Anything to get rid of those live food reject pest! 🍔🍟😅😅😅😅

Is it true, that you can’t use the directional buttons. But only the analog stick? 🤔

Bjørn Gammelgaard it us true for now. Even still the controls are miraculously tight, far better than Mario Maker with the Dpad.

Yea, can’t use the D-Pad, but only the stick, which is odd since I’m a D-Pad guy for 2D platformers.

Maybe Peter Pepper hates hotdog, egg, donuts and pickles so that those food wants to take revenge on him.

Boy, am I glad I never heard of this game.... If I woulda payed for this on my Switch, I think I'd be royally pissed off! I'll stick with the original thank you very much.

This just really doesn’t seem to be anywhere near as good as the other Burgertime games :/

Mr. Hot Dog is delicious in burgers. Mr. Pickle is great in burgers. Mr. Egg is yummy in burgers. Mr. Doughnut is disgusting in burgers and no one likes doughnuts in burgers!
