Burger with a side of 747? Plane Spotting LAX 2020
When you think about seeing the action at LAX, there's only one planespotting location that comes to mind: The In-N-Out Burger at 9149 S Sepulveda Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045. In this video, I'll share some of the planes I spotted while I was there one Saturday morning in January.
It was a fun few hours and culminated in a killer cheeseburger from the In-N-Out Burger LAX.

I'm in the middle of a pretty epic trip to Africa. Plenty of videos to come, of course! While I get those ready, here's something a little different for this channel. What do you think?

You should go to felton common at Bristol airport
I absolutely love this spot for plane spotting! Jumbo jets with a side of Double Double and Animal Fries? Yes, please!
The Flying Kangaroo (Qantas) at 2.18 !! Magnificent !! Great spotting Jeb and the burgers also look great !! Something different and really enjoyed it !! As always looking forward to your next adventure !!

Great as always! Think back like 25 yrs. Then you would see the B-707, 727, 737-200, 757, 767 and 747. Also DC-8, DC-9, MD-81-to the MD-90. What a spot to spot, and eat at the same time! Does life get any better? Sure! See you in the sky!
I had rented a condo in Baldwin Park in Orlando, just north of the executive airport, but it was also under the landing approach to MCO's west runway so you could sit on the balcony and watch planes approach or gaining altitude from takeoff all day, with filights using the East runway in the distance. also you could occasionaly see the fire from a rcoket launch from Kennedy Space Center as well. The development has some nice park areas you can use as well.
What a great new video Jeb! I’m really enjoying the new and interesting content you’re putting out this year. It’s nice to see your experiences outside of the plane and what’s putting you there. Keep up the good work. Hope to see you in the sky someday.
DCA has a park at the end of the runway! Amazing plane spotting as well.

Indeed Gravelly Point park is its name, it’s good but the variety of planes is really quite horrible only regional bombardiers, and embraers maybe a southwest 737 here and there.

aidyrico rico I was there a few days ago and saw one of the Alaska “more to love” planes and got visibly excited
I’ve done some plane spotting in this location, love that spot.

Jeb, well done. Creatively approached and delivered. And, foremost, enjoyable.
Jeb...go to SFO to plane spot. SFO is set up with intersecting runways 1/19 and 10/28. There is a walkway that goes along the bay, parallel to 10/28. The view is incredible and the weather is almost always sublime. Several hotels right there. Great variety of domestic and international traffic. Another excellent vantage point is Coyote Point, which you can easily find of google maps. I've never seen a spotting video from this location but I go there often just to spot. Again, beautiful area and beautiful view, great vantage point for arrivals on the 28's.
Gravelly Point, in Arlington, VA, is one of my all time favorite places for plane spotting. It’s located just north of runway 19 at Reagan National Airport.
I paid my pilgrimage to In-N-Out last month - great place! For close up spotting in the UK, it's difficult to beat Manchester. The south side of the field has elevated views along the length of the runway - perfect for landings and take off rolls!
I just loved the video. Enjoyed it when you were calling to rebook a flight and filming. These things happen. Makes it more interesting.
What a cool video, Jeb! Thanks!
just got home from a flight. it is the most satisfying thing watching planes land and takeoff
You are a literal legend. The great things about airports like lax is the airline diversity. Where I live in Charlotte, and you only see AA there. Lax is such a cool airport.
Went to that In N Out this summer for the first time. It was evening, but still amazing food and spotting. Loved seeing your video from the day time.
Great vid JB!
Next time you're in Washington DC Gravelly Point park is a great spot for planespotting out there! If you're in Boston Constitution Beach or Castle Island (depending on the runway operation at the time) are also great places to spot from!

Gravelly point is excellent and im sure Jeb knows about it im assuming as he flies in and out of DCA all the time, however I would say this LAX spot is alot better than Gravelly point because of the amazing variety of aircraft At DCA it is all domestic 737, A320 type traffic
@RedBeardedLife

@@planesense7390 I used to live in that area and the largest plane I've seen there is a 757
Been there many times, and as a retired pilot brings back some great memories, also use to be able to park on International Blvd. , you can almost touch the planes as they are coming in.
Another perfect video!
Hey Jeb !!! Love your content. Next time you have time, I recommend going spotting at the DFW Founders Plaza Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. It’s one of the best spots
That 747 SP at the end just made my day! Great video 👍🏻

The 400 or older 747s are the absolute best because they are big and they are LOUD. You'll stand in that spot and see a dozen 737s, A319/20/21s the A380s are impressive but, when you see that giant bird getting larger and larger, seemingly aiming right for you looking like it's hovering impossibly slow and then that SCREAM of it rushing right over your head that no A380 can match.... It's better than an amusement park.
KLAX I have had quite a few flights in and out of there. I even experienced my first go around in a Learjet there. Amazing video
love this place it was nice to see an a-380 while having the best cheeseburger
A 747, dreamy sigh......😍😍😍😍 that must have been so awesome, Jeb! Even just watching the video, I can feel the vibration of the plane engines in my chest. It's a bit of a tickly feeling, but I like it! It's so cool! I can only imagine what it would be like if I was there for real. At Syracuse, they have an indoor observation deck, just for watching planes taking off and landing, and you can hear Ground talking to the pilots, which in pretty cool. The indoor lounges are really nice, because then you can watch anytime and not have to worry about the miserable weather we get up here in NY all the time.☺
I ve seen many photos on instagram but didn’t realise it was that close to the runway , fantastic 👍
That looks an awesome spot for planespotting! Reminds me of spotting at Heathrow at Myrtle Avenue or Premier inn bath road!
I watch planes at that in out once too. It is a really good location at LAX for spotting. Also London Heathrow is great for spotting.
Yay I been waiting for a good video at in and out
The twin cities has several excellent spotting areas and a fantastic spotting community!
LOVE THIS VIDEO! AWESOME! 😃✈️
This spot is very special to me because this kicked of my love of planespotting I now spot very often at my local airport (Helsinki-Vantaa airport) and post my pictures on Instagram. Thankyou for showing off this spot I love the video. 👍
It is nice to plane spot at Cape Town International as you can see a lot of different cool planes land. They all land around noon.
For sure a local favorite spot for LAX! Can't bet the food nor the scenery!
You should go to Seattle Tacoma sometime there is a reservoir next to employee park where you can get perfect shots of 16L 16C and 16R great video btw!!!

Really where is that im from seattle and ive never seen it sounds amazing, was just wondering if someone had commented something like this!
Great spot to watch aircraft at BWI is the aircraft observation park at end of runway 33L. Lots of Southwest and cargo aircraft, as well as a wide variety of airlines and aircraft types in the afternoon and early evening, all within about 60 feet from where you’re standing
That’s an awesome spot, nice job finding it
wow jeb, that looks awesome!
Boy, you got that right. In-N-Out is the BEST!
Awesome video, Jeb! That’s one of the reasons I like LAX-and now I’ll have to go to that In N Out next time I go to Los Angeles. You should check out Earthquake Park at the RWY 14 end of ANC sometime and there are also some good planespotting spots at my home airport of JNU.
There's a really good spot near Frankfurt, I've been there and spotted 747s and 777s, you name it, there's a bridge and some places to see the beautiful birds flying above.
Great video! Really enjoyed it!
Clutter's park, 423 imperial ave, is a mile or 2 from there and an elevated view for plane spotting!

Do you know if it's open right now?
You can also go to Amsterdam, there are some great spotter places over there! Especially the one next to the Polderbaan!
Been to that In & Out Burger many times. Good location, thanks for sharing
In and out is truly the best burger place, I’ve been there but not the one near LAX, their burgers are truly one of a kind
I live in LA and when I have friends visit from out town and never had In n Out in their lives before, I take them to this one when I pick them up at LAX. Its just so damn cool. A lot of the heavy planes use this runway so it's really cool if you dont mind the noise. I am really chuffed to bits that you got to experience this spot. Also if you wanna experience some interesting GA landings you can go to Roscoe Blvd in the Valley just west of Woodley Ave. That's Van Nuys Airpory. Lots of approaches from the north. Enjoy!
Jacques de Lesseps park in Montreal, Canada. I’ve been there once on a trip with my dad, it was really cool. It is parallel with the runway, and it is right against the fence. There is also a cool view of the air canada 737 maxes that are grounded
Those long International flights from LAX...Free snacks and free beers 🍺🍺🍺👍🏼✈
Salt Lake City USED to have a golf course (Wingpointe) between the two main run-ways. It was a great place to watch planes, play golf, and have great views of the mountains. It was run by Salt Lake City who decided they couldn't fund the course any more - something about actual value of the land. The course is now vacant with no income being generated - so the "actual" commercial value was a farse to close it down. Anyway, it was a great place to watch planes.
Hey Jeb I really like your content man!
Thanks for the great idea
I've been there once before at night and omg it truly is spotters paradise. You're 100% correct about it not being a good walk from the hotels...its a bit sketchy. Drive if possible.
Excellent tip! Not quite as exciting as Queen Juliana and the St. Martin beach, but for US spotting, definitely a great spot. And with In-N-Out right there, it looks like perfect spot.
Jeb KCLT has a good spot overlooking runway 18C whenever they are taking off to the south and it's only a short drive south of you sir. Amazing how many B737 MAX there were considering all that has happened. Keep up the good work sir and God bless.
This is very high on my list....together with that helicopter ride over LAX. Great video mate. Enjoy Africa.
94th Aerosquadron at MIA is some of the best plane spotting around. Lots of different airlines and types.
SFO just opened an observation deck, the views are incredible!
You are at the best place, sir. It doesn't get better than the park by LAX.
Awesome video, Jeb. Stay a night at the SFO Airport Marriott. The runway facing views are awesome!
I’m so glad In-N’-Out is the restaurant there.
Miami International airport. On the south side of the airport sits 94 aero squadron restaurant with a front row seat parking lot to watching all sorts of planes landing and take offs. Great spot Jeff.
Kew Gardens is a good location for the heavy metal coming into Heathrow. Not as close to the runway as LAX but a great variety of airlines and planes for the enthusiast. In between planes you can always admire the trees and flowers!
My favourite spot is at CLT Airport Overlook 👌🏻 whenever I visit NC my friend and I grab some food and go sit up there for hours 🙌🏼
Loved the music and textual implements Jeb! Great idea for an episode. Did you have your In-N-Out “Animal Style?” For plane spotting: Maho Beach, St. Maarten!!! How about KLM AMS to SXM? Plane spotting, also Oshkosh EAA AirVenture July 20-July 27!
I will be doing this very soon!!….so awesome!!
Great video...FLL has a new runway with an amazing park on the South side of FLL. Enter off Griffin Rd.
Gravelly Point, just before runway 19 at DCA. Planes coming in are so close you could almost jump up and touch them. Or, if they are departing 19 you can 100% feel the jet blast. Also offers incredible views of the national mall.
You HAVE to go to the terminal 4 parking garage at PHX, great view of all 3 runways, and the gates.
The pizza place at the south end of Midway is an experience! Ground turbulence & great sound all gratis with your pepperoni double cheese. 😁😎
Spectacular!
There is a great spot just next to McCarran (LAS) off of Sunset. You can listen to ATC and use the Flight Radar app. My office used to be near there and I spent a lot of lunches there. Great views!
My childhood was spent here lol. I used to live right down the street towards the west and the golf course you see is where I stated at 18 months.
There is excellent plane spotting at McCarran Airport in LAS. Planes typically land or take off every minute, and the most used runways end within a very short distance of a city park.
If you’re ever in San Francisco. There’s a great park near SFO. It’s called Bay front park. Great view of the bay and planes coming in.
There is an In-n-Out over at San Jose Airport (my home airport) and you can see the planes come in when you’re inside! But this *THIS IS EVEN BETTER!!!!!!!!!* Also you should go to the Observation Deck at SFO between Terminal 2 and 3 it’s also opened to the public and just opened yesterday
love In & Out and love that spot. Try to grab a meal there anytime I'm in town. Another great plane spot is on top of the parking garage at San Diego International
If you visit Washington DC go to Gravelly Point on the Virginia side. It’s great fun watching flights come into KDCA over the Potomac while maneuvering to keep out of the restricted airspace over DC.
Loved this video. I enjoyed it. I plane spot out in LA two times a year. Another great place to check out is Founders Plaza at DFW. Not as good as here but it’s a great place to check out.
There is a great place to spot at YUL on the side of 06R. Great view of the hanger and takeoffs/landings. It’s called Jacques de Lesseps Park
YVR has excellent areas built specifically for spotting at the end of 26L and 26R. To the south of 26L is the Fraser River which has the float plane runway where you can see the only operational DH Beaver that is electrically driven. Just a couple hundred meters East of 26L is the British Columbia Institute of Technology Aviation Campus (where my father was the Dean for a decade) that is like a museum with some interesting birds. You’ll have enough footage for two episodes if you make your way to Vancouver.
You can park just up one block at the shopping center. There is great plane spotting at the second level of the CVS parking lot. It's also a great, and safe, place to park and walk down to the In-N-Out.
Gotta check out the new observation deck at SFO. Right in the heart of the action

Arround Frankfurt there are many great spotting points! And so many 747s!
Jeb, You definitely need to check out Founders Plaza at Dallas Fort Worth International if you haven’t all ready. Very neat place centered around observing the airport and the aircraft.
Gravelly Point Park is just north of DCA. It’s a better spotting location when they’re landing 19 on the River visual but it’s good for departures when using runway 1 too
The 747 that was shown was is owned by LVS (aka Venetian and Pallazzo) in Las Vegas. I have flown into Las Vegas multiple times and I always see one of those 747s. (They have multiple).
Gravely point right next to Reagan is a great plane spotting location. They don't fly wide body planes into there but it's still really cool.
The southern part of Balboa Park in San Diego is a great spot to plane watch.
I've been to the In-n-Out..... I love it
When I was a kid, we used to go to Tommy’s to get burgers and fries, then we’d drive to the Burbank airport and do some plane spotting, personally I didn’t care for it,but my older brother absolutely loved plane spotting still does . I also remember before 9/11 happened you were still able to go into LAX terminal and do plane spotting from there and get lunch without even having to take a flight. I don’t think you can do that anymore not in this day and age.
When construction in Denver is done, all 3 concourses will have an outdoor patio at the new ends
Have filmed videos at In-N-Out, Imperial Hill, Gravelly Point at DCA, and the Renaissance Hotel at ATL before. All are excellent locations.
There is a Hamton Inn on the south side of Miami International that has a great view of the field. The Grand Hyatt Tampa has great views of Tampa International, assuming you are high enough to see over the freeway.
the approach end of 13L at JFK airport was a GOLD location to watch planes...used to go in the 90's all the time, not sure how access is these days wth security etc..but nothing beats JFK with the variety and types of aircraft,it is #1
You can pretty much see the entirety of the airport from the top of the short term parking garage at TPA. I love visiting there.
If your in LA again and close by LAX, another super cool spot to go is a restaurant called ProudBird, it’s on the south east side of the airport where you can get the landings for 25L and takeoffs of 25R. You can grab a bite to eat and a cold beverage and go sit out on its back patio where you are in the same proximity to where you are in this video, but on the other side of the airport. There are also old airplanes at the restaurant and a small museum in the same building and one can spend hours there looking at the artifacts, eating good food, and watching airplane come in and head out. I highly recommend it!
The overlook at CLT is always great your right next to the runway
