Man, there is just nothing like 1987 MJ. I would always glued to the TV because you never knew what new triple-one-handed-pump shot he would conjure up out of thin air. The thing is, these circus shots were all just part of his normal repertoire due to his obvious athleticism. Check the move at 1:25. He covers about 5 feet on the fade and he did this move sporadically (there's one in my 1988 52 and 46 vs. Celtics vid). That one-hander at 3:25 - wow. That one-handed pass fake at 5:15 - wow.

it amazed that the clipper crowd cheered for MJ when only his third season in the nba. it seems like he was playing in homecourt, haha, you rarely see this.

He was still so raw in 1987, despite it being his highest scoring season. He was still amazing (people overlook the fact that in ADDITION to becoming the first player since Wilt to score 3000 points in a season that year, he became the first player since stats were kept to record 200+ steals and 100+ blocks in the same season -- and he shattered the mark, with ~240 stl/125 blk. He would go on to repeat this the following season. No one had his stamina. Offensively, I like him from '89-'91.

Huge thanks for the upload! I've had a really bad VHS copy of that breakaway leaner dunk from some highlight clip and I've been waiting to find the full game version. That has to be one of the best ever. He takes off with such ease and so high it's not human.

Young MJ had the most insane stamina. I don't think there's another player that was as active on both ends of the floor.

great game!!!! there are so many great highlights in this one to comment on. that drive on 3:49 is just insanely quick. i have never seen a guy his size with this kind of quickness. the shot on 5:20 shows how many time he got double triple teamed, yet still manage to score. the breakaway dunk happens within 2 second, from the key of one side to the basket. who else in nba has the speed like that?? and as the commentator said, he is all over the place, yea his stamina is just inhuman.

3:52 definitely the highlight of the game to me. U have to see the baseline replay to fully appreciate what he did there, unbelievable poise and hang time on that reverse. Shame there's no replay.

That is a beautiful dunk. See people seem to think that MJ developed his skills throughout the years but in truth, he already had all those skills when he entered the league. He just had to refine them.

The ball in MJ's hands seemed to defy the laws of physics because of his absurd hands. Wish those games had more replays back then of course. SPMJ, can you put slo-mo? Thanks for the game.

LOL @ the last play where there's somehow 8 seconds on the shot clock as the Bulls bring it across halfcourt (there shouldn't have been any less than 14 seconds, since it's a 10 second backcourt violation). Talk about home cooking from the clock men lol. Wow, he also had 4 blocks this game.

@dkthg Says the guy who read my comments instead of enjoying the video and felt the urge to contribute his 2 cents :) But yes, I don't think people appreciate how good Mark Price is. Not as good as Steve Nash, but played the same style of game. Great 3 point shooting, play making, etc

Works for me too, but I've gotten those messages more and more lately. It seems the only way to view a video where you're getting that message is to clear your cache, close your browser, and reopen a mew browser window. One time I even had to reboot. lol It's weird. KZread sucks lately. I also dislike the new volume control, since it disappears even if you keep your cursor over it.

Clippers were born to be a horrible team, but I really love their jerseys here. They should revert to an updated version of these uniforms. Also, you know the Clips are garbage when the fans cheered for the visitors rather than the home, Clips. Hopefully, they can become a better team.

@ahmorgan If you knew me you would know that I don't, nor do I need to hate on Kobe. I, like many are spoiled from watching the greatest off all time do what he did better than anyone. I wouldn't call Kobe's 3 point shooting better than MJ just he shoots way more with a shitty percentage. He's not as efficient as MJ and Pau Gasol had something to say about that recently. I have no time to hate on anyone, I just observe and state facts.

@ahmorgan Instead of actually answering the question you pretend to be above it all and dodge it. Or you're projecting onto me and you don't have any knowledge of Kobe Bryant, which would be fine if you were only honest about it. All I was asking was for you to clarify your previous generic statement with some specifics. It wasn't an attack on you (or Kobe, though I doubt he cares what we think). But it seems not taking your word for it makes you somewhat defensive. You should work on that.

This is for the idiots who insist in comparing MJ to Bryant or that fake Lebron (who will never win an NBA Ring after selling his soul). I am a Bird/Celtics fan, and I miss the hard-nose basketball of the 80's. All you have now is smoke and mirrors.
