Bullion Dealer on Stacking & Scrapping BOTH Gold and Silver
In this video I talk with a coin shop owner and bullion dealer about silver stacking and the incredible demand we have seen for silver and gold. With gold price near an all time high and silver price at the highest it has been in over a decade the tide is changing. Is it possible to sell scrap gold and silver to a coin shop to grow the stack? Scrap silver such as sterling silver can be easily sold at coin shops and converted into more silver and gold coins. Is this better than holding on to the scrap silver? If we end up in a barter situation down the road the scrap silver may not be very helpful. Silver coins, silver bars, and junk silver are what most silver stackers prefer to stack. When it comes to holding silver bullion I prefer silver rounds and silver coins. What things are made out of sterling silver? We talk about sterling silver and gold jewelry as well in this video. Below is the video where I get my grandmother's tooth appraised:

@@RICHIELUXURY Silver is the bankers lynch pin. Gold wasn’t ‘tier one’ until 16 months ago. Silver is incredibly undervalued as a monetary metal. The industrial aspect of silver, both medically and its use in solar energy, is often overlooked. Silver is consumed at a faster rate than the above ground supply can keep up with.

I always check coinstar returns when I'm in a store. I occasionally find silver
I sold about eight kilos of scrap sterling last month and used that to purchase 2.5 ozt of gold Eagles. I hunt sterling as a hobby, but the thing to be careful with is if the piece is marked as "weighted" or ""reinforced". That means that it has a layer of sterling but is filled with a resin or cement. The candlestick that Harry was holding is a good example. If you strip the Sterling off, there is about one ounce of actual sterling (depending on the manufacturer). The knife that Harry was holding is not 100% sterling. Because silver is soft, the blade will be steel, and the handle will have a layer of sterling the the rest is filled. Sterling spoons and forks will be solid sterling. Just an FYI.

Very informative
I buy scrap gold, and sterling. Then I chemically refine the metal to purity, sell or trade for bullion. I get better price, and feed the hobby at the same time.
At a thrift shop, I recently found a small spool of thermocoupler wire (79% Platinum, 21% Rhodium). It's very thin (0.003") and strong; thought i'd make a good fishing leader material. Then I saw on an popular auction site this wire selling for $10 per inch. Lucky Find.

Not in real life, but I’ve seen online some ugly coloured libertads.. don’t get me wrong, some people likes them.. It’s one of the few the coin/round that I’d gladly pay the high premiums, but some of those coloured ones were not only ugly it’s also very expensive.. I think you’d know which ones!
Harry is such a genuine Awesome guy! The whole crew is great there.

Thanks again Silver Dragons and Harry's Shop, for another nice video.
I'm not good at selling stuff. But if I were ever to go into sales it would be precious metals. It's something I believe in and understand the value of so I would be confident working with it and getting it into people's hands. Harry here has a dream job
BE WARY of items marked "sterling" that has any part of it that is hollow (like the knives or the candlestick in the video) often these items had the hollow filled with grout to make them feel heftier but obviously are NOT silver so never pay silver weight until you prove it is solid. As it will be scrapped anyway, cutting them open first is highly recommended
Good morning Harry! Thank you for your insight.
Thats interesting about dental crowns being 14 and 16 carat ive got my pliers and im now off to see grandma 😜😜🤣
My wife inherited her mother's gold jewelry a few years back. the local coin chop offered her $5000 for the lot. She declined the offer as it was her mothers. Of Late with the price of gold I have mentioned trying to sell it again but she's not budging. Going to give those items to our daughter.

Funny thing is, i got back into collecting silver and gold after I got the urge to buy some old sterling candlestick holders about 10 yrs ago. Got my selection of different types and moved back into the silver and gold thing. I still buy a candlestick every once in a while, and use a few all the time. Candle light sets a certain mood for me, it's tranquil and relaxing.
It’s good to know about checking the old silverware. Thanks

Good video. Have recently bought my wife some 18k gold jewelry. Doing the math - I.e. 18k divided by 24k is 75% - and apply that to the cost of the jewelry by weight versus spot, can sometimes be a decent price and not much over spot. Makes the wife happy and she actually wears the jewelry so it doesn’t just sit in the safe.

In Canada, you can buy all the Canadian mint's bullions at any post office. they usually even have a small stock. you dont need any bank account. for TD, you can have a precious metal account, without having a bank account, but you pay a little fee on top of the normal price. you can also make a free savings account to be able to buy in any TD counter if you want.
when I bought halves - I always bought franklin halves....they are less worn than walkers and are ALWAYS 90% silver - like he said, they were never clad....
Love the Libertads!
