The Peterson family is going through the loss of their oldest son, Caleb, in the Afghanistan war. They receive an unexpected visit from David Collins, who introduces himself as Caleb's battle buddy. He has promised him to take care of the Petersons and quickly gains the family's trust. But soon strange things begin to happen, and the eldest daughter starts to suspect that something is wrong.
