It is a remake of "Forrest Gump". Remake. Not illegal or mindless copying. I personally prefer the Tom Hanks one. Because Forrest Gump wasn't "mad ", he had a lower IQ and a calm personality. He didn't seem crazy or "Pagol" . Whereas Amir Khan made hmm mhm noises very much in the movie and his stare...his eyes were always biggg, round when he was looking at something. Forrest was calm and collected and he wasn't that verbose. Nevermind I love Amir Khan's some other movies a lot

Immitation at his best. the big difference is instead waiting a bus the hero was on a train waiting to arrive where his going. Bubba in original film have a boat and expert in catching shrimps, but Balla in this pirated copy version was a tailor making an underwear.

This was picked from "Forrest Gump" but given the Indian touch! I have such great respect for Aamir Khan. I wonder how he is able to achieve his looks for the different films! What a great actor.

Today i was really depressed, because some bad guys in my college who had a good connection with hostel warden because ofcourse bad reasons made me and my friend shifted to a worst room in hostel , we can't do anything as no one listens so i was really feeling so sad but after watching this , i feel better really .

I like how they followed the original movie but added some variations to make it more of its own story.

Even tho it has its version, I like the way they substitute the Captain with Muhammed Paji. Instead of suffering alone, he went on to have a new life.

this is a very well made remake. cool to see.

the only problem with this remake is the circumstances around his entry to the Army. In USA in times of war there is forced conscription but that's not the case in India. there are always people ready to take the place of the fallen hence there are both written and physical tests as well as personality tests. Laal Singh could very well be physically strong but his low IQ would never get him into Indian army. Not saying because Indian army is superior to other armies but because of the population advantage India has.

The thing with Lal Singh and the original Forrest Gump is that it's actually about a severe case of Savant Syndrome. With this syndrome there's areas of disability and areas of superior intelligence, meaning a specific generalized IQ can not be handed out. Despite his disabilities Forrest Gump/Lal Singh proved time and time again that he was capable if he put his heart and mind to it. It is possible he wouldn't surpassed the IQ test after years of a lot of support from family and schooling, with his own hard work put in, pushing him to be better. I'm dyslexic. I'm not as disabled as Forrest and as you can see from my language skills, have overcome the challenges of my learning disabilty, but I worked so much harder than all the other kids and I needed extra support from teachers, tutors, and family to get here. That said I found Amir Khan's acting to be extremely offensive. He seemed to be making fun of people with learning disabilities instead of showing the strength in representation Tom Hanks did. If he doesn't want to do accurate representation he's being a bad actor. Forrest always made sense, his actions always had logic to them, he just lacked the intelligence to understand what other people did. Lal Singh's strange noises and expressions were a mockery.

@drnandupreethakumar96 In the Vietnam war the army started a program to draft mentally unfit people as they were desperately in need of soldiers. Nothing like that was ever done by the Indian army till now.

30 seconds in , saw the feather and realized this is a copy of Forrest Gump. But despite this, it seems like a nice remake. The changes keep the movie interesting to watch it even if you've already watched Forrest Gump♥️

Therefore some thing which doesn't exist with someone and they are helpless to have it fixed (no body can just turn up their low iq), shouldn't be called names on that. I bet after watching the 'Laal chadda' and 'Forrest gump' both, I feel forrest gump is just amazing, The way Tom hanks acted is so natural and real whereas, here, Aamir seems so cosmetic, yeah it's difficult to portray a special child, but Hanks did it greatly, Amir to bas nautanki kar rhea sey..Yo mr perfection naam to bas pato na kaise padh giyo sey, marey ko to laagey, Mr nautanki naam rkhno chaiye..
