@marchammer1364
Жыл бұрын
@@Bsm420 you can’t really compare this. Henry Cavill was 23(!) at the time of the casting for Casino Royale (plus too chubby). Way too young. Now at 39 he’s considered too old already to start a new era. Don’t forget, Taylor-Johnson is turning 33 and might be like 34/35 when they start shooting. Actors have a playing range like +- 10yrs gap or so. So a 35yrs old can definitely play a Bond in 40s. Plus seeing the future he can play this for the next 15yrs until he will be 50. The perfect age for a new bond era. Plus he’s not bigger than the role he’s playing. Cavill for example would be too big/famous for the role. The age thing is publicly communicated as a criteria (mid 30s), the status of fame more like unofficial but it’s a criteria👍
Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Tangerine) is English, so this is more of his normal accent, and he just does a really good American one when he has to. Bryan Tyree Henry (Lemon) is American, and is just doing a good accent in this.
@TidusMino
Ай бұрын
He is not, it's one of the worst English accents in cinema. Its Dick Van Dyke level. Just all over the place, half the time he just gives up and does an American accent and then remembers mid sentence he's meant to be from East London.
Love this movie. The fact that the water bottle had a flashback origin story was just the cherry on top.

yeah, she has range. she just consecutively casted on bad projects. she went from horror movies to a bad romcom and now this movie. she already has more versatility than the rock.
P.s. Brad's character fell luckily on the blow up cat just like Domino on the Panda in Deadpool 2. Her power was luck. 😊
Saw this in theaters and we were having fun, but my friends and I absolutely lost it when they gave the water bottle a backstory.
Lemon & Tangerine prequels are needed!
I love the fact that the truck Lemon drove to kill the girl was full of tangerines.
I too was shocked to learn Aaron Taylor Johnson is English. I always believed he was native Sokovian.
When Brad Pitt luckily (or unluckily) gets the combination on that briefcase correct.....i mean....total Chef's Kiss!!!! 😂😂😂
I have re-watched this movie many times. I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would.
I think it might have been the critic Mark Kermode who said Brad Pitt does his best work when he isn't the lead or having to carry a movie and I think that's absolutely true. This movie is definitely an ensemble and everyone is great in it.
the grandfather with the sword is played by Hiroyuki Sanada, the guy acted in many japanese and hong kong cinema movie from the 70s and 80s and is known for his sword fighting scenes and is a martial art movie legend.. (and he in best ninja movie of all time: "Ninja in the Dragons Den" ;) )
i love meticulous movies like this. i loved all of the set ups, payoffs, and reveals. also this director is really into shooting cinematic luck sequences.
This was a huge surprise for me when I first saw this and now it's one of my favorite action comedies of all time. The cast is perfect.
4:41 Aaron Taylor-Johnson is British, but I don't know if that particular British accent is his own. 6:10 Joey King was rightly nominated for an Emmy for the Hulu limited series "The Act" (2019).
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is indeed English. He's on the short list to be the new James Bond.
my two favourite details of the movie are, 1. Logan Lerman who play the son of white death also played Percy Jackson and this had the Percy train sticker placed on his head 2. The tangerine truck at the end is the same truck that almost hits Brad Pitt at the beginning
Your channel has become my favorite for the morning. You both consistently make me smile.
I have watched it twice, and 3 times on YT on first time watching channels. Brad had interaction with every story line which is why he is the main character.

i highly recommend watching the bloopers for this film :)

I've been watching you two for a couple of months now. You both crack me up. I feel like I'm watching with a couple of friends.
Yes! Aaron taylor Johnson is English. He's rumoured to be in the running for the next James Bond after reports of him doing a screen test.
The Prince constantly asking for help probably comes from her character in the novel which was a 14 year old boy who played his age and how people viewed kids as helpless as an advantage. In the book (and played very well here) The Prince is smart and highly Machiavellian. The kid's downfall was his hubris and he ended up with a much worse fate than being hit by a tangerine truck.
Oh how I'm happy that you watched it! The masterpiece that we all needed in 2022. I was genuinely amazed how some American actors managed to pull off British accents, let alone speaking Russian with quite decent accent. And I simply adore how Brad Pitt plays in this flick.
That film was my biggest surprise in 2022, because the critics just didn't like the movie that much. And a couple weeks ago saw Babylon and it's the same thing, critics rated down, but I loved it. Good example that just don't listen critic reviewers.

Hard to believe Tangerins is the kid from Kick-ass
Please have a consideration for Guy Ritchie's films. The Man from UNCLE is an excellent one!
Bullet Train is an excelent movie and has a lot of anime tropes included to the point that it could be considered a live action adaptation of an anime....even when it is not, it is actually an adaptation of a Japanese novel called Maria Bettle. This should be considered a standard for Hollywood adaptations of Japanese media, since it follows almost exactly the plot of the novel with just very little adaptations to characters (in the novel every character is Japanese, here only two are actually Japanese, the rest were changed to other nationalities but their characters are basically the same as in the novel). It even contains the trope of a character being run over by a truck, which is very anime if you ask me (literally there are animes where that is the starting point of the narrative, specially isekais). All in all it was a surprisingly fun and entertaining movie, more so now if you know that it has become a meme for the singer who plays the character of The Wolf, who is a Reggeton singer known as Bad Bunny (the meme is the one where he has the cell phone with the knife in it), mainly because recently he didn't like that a fan was about to take a picture of him, he said he didn't like that people take pictures of him in android phones, only on apple phones. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I had so much fun watching your reaction!! I forgot how GOOD that movie was! So glad you liked it! Definitely rewatch because then you catch all kinds of things!

10:53 Quiet car? From what I recall from Japan, all cars are the quiet car.
The reason they got so many names for this, is cause it was during the "dark times", and people just wanted to work.

I've lived in Japan for nearly 20 years now, and can attest *everything* is absolutely accurate in this film. Except for where Mt. Fuji is located. And all the train stations. And everything in the trains. And no Momomon circulating in the shinkansen. (though the toilets *are* completely like that). But a silly, hilarious movie.

The book the movie is based on had the train going from Tokyo to Morioka instead of Kyoto, which would have provided a lot more time for all the events of the movie. I'm sure it was changed because Kyoto is a far more well known city outside of Japan than Morioka is.
@Hexon66
Жыл бұрын
@@GMontag Living in Tokyo myself, I was only have a little fun with how non-Japanese the film is in actuality. At the beginning there is a kind of Bladerunner Japanese feel, which is to say not at all Japanese. And for, I guess, obvious reasons the branding was changed from JR (Japan Railway) to NSL (Nihon Speed Line, maybe? I forget, It's been a while since I saw the movie). And Tokyo Station, famously, has a red brick facade facing the Imperial Palace, which while nice, probably didn't fit the aesthetic of the movie.
The short amount of screen time Ryan Reynolds spent on screen in this movie is the same Brad Pitt spent in Deadpool 3. Cameo for cameo lol.
Karen Fukuhara from the boys also had a small cameo.

I can't help thinking of this movie as a spiritual successor to The Mexican, which is also all about luck and destiny, also has Brad Pitt as a lovable doofus, and also has a gun that kills the people who fire it. Also none of us will ever be as cool as Hiroyuki Sanada, no matter how long we live.

Sandra and Channing were also filming a movie together and did the came because Brady cameo’s in their movie.
So glad you enjoyed this, it's a really fun movie. Genuinely surprised me, I wasn't expecting to have that much fun with it! Might be worth checking out Bad Times at the El Royale and Hotel Artemis - they're both ensemble crime movies with lots of twists and turns, and both of them had fairly low-key releases which (imo) has made them both quite underappreciated. Similar things could be said about Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys - both by Shane Black, an amazing action movie screenwriter, and they've both got fantastic casts, brilliant pacing and cracking dialogue.
Oh, this film was such a joy to watch. I loved the Kill Bill - Pulp Fiction-esque set and characters. And it was a terribly missed gag not to have Vin Diesel for a cameo role at any point:)
This movie is an f-bomb masterpiece.
