Thank you. The comparator that is closest would be the .308. This will work fine on the .303, will just sit a little higher.

If I am just trying to determine maximum seating depth so I can back off .020 for batch of .308, but all I have is a Hornady insert for the .22 cal. which will contact further up the .30 cal bullet, do I really need an insert for .30 cal? As long as the insert is contacting the same location on the .30 cal bullet, does it really matter?

are these only for rifle or do the work for handgun calibers also?

You could use it for handgun, but it's significantly less important.

OK try not to fall off your seat laughing. I bought one because of discontinued projectiles but..... So the tip to ogive varies. My seating die, I think, (not saying all), works on the tip. So unless you measure each one and "trickle up" the errors will still exist. Unless some seating dies work on the ogive in which case they would remove that error. What am I missing?
