Guess it's an end of an era. Kinda like the Wild West lasted for only 40 years (1860-1900) The best years of trucking were 1978-2018 (40 years of hell, but better than today). And now, because of ELD's or because of our own Government, this era is over. I started in '81 drove all kinds of stupid pieces of crap till I got a long nose in '98. Drove that tractor till 2010. 48' Fontaine combo flat, spread, drop axle, 24.5 low pro's, chickens, 40 watt Cobra, and thousands of friends. Rode hard, mostly at night, lost family as we all have, due to the job and long hours. Bingo cards, log books, all a Government joke, but we knew how to do it right, the radio's were our best defense, and the Blue Beacon was our best friend. Now we have to sign on with big business, ELD's, Drug test's, 20 year old dispatchers, 30 minutes with our fingers up our, and castrated Chinese trucks with exhaust fluid smoking out our brethren behind us. Youngster's wont pull up after fuel, some don't even speak English, and heavy traffic in the middle of nowhere. 4-wheelers won't even go the speed limit, and if they do they are scared. What happened to my Nation. Bull Racks feed our nation, and skateboards feed the Steer's. The long-nose will soon be a Truck of the past, as will the W-9's and Western Stars. And so will us Wild West Truckers, like the Cowboys of old. Written off to the tales of History. I got your front door hands, on the way home. Our last exit's are all coming up soon. God Bless Ya'll!

Watching and listening to these songs takes me back when I was a little one about 4-6 years old and being in the truck with my dad. I miss it. I'm 17 years old currently and hope to be like him, just it's won't really be the same without those old swindle sheets.

I've never pulled cattle but I've always thought a cattle hauler had some good looken rides. And this was when trucking was trucking. We didn't get to shut down after 8 hours we had log books not computers so we was always rolling. And we never did really get any respect and we are the back bone of this country. A lot of people don't realize and don't don't care how much we actually do. Think about it real hard for a min. If every single truck driver in America just stopped running for a day the united states would be hurt. So think about it EVERY SINGLE THING IN AMERICA IS DELIVERED TO YOU BY A TRUCK. NO MATTER WHAT IT IS YOU GET IT BY TRUCK IN THE END. So all you people that talk shit all the time stop and just think if it wasn't for a truck you wouldnt have nothing you have period. So stop and give us a little respect sometimes. Thank you and GOD bless all of you

@@jessieodom7119 No but the Monfort Lane was mostly for the rigs running from Greely CO to the old Hunts Point NY city. I've been asked more than once what I was doing in their lane. Their trucks could run, most if not all had Cats 1692 turned up and their paint jobs were multicolor. Now I am going to tell my age by saying, I remember when Willy Sanders had some of the fastest trucks in the USA and pulled reefers, flatbeds, and dry boxes. That came to a stop in 1979 after two drivers ran an LA state trooper into a canal.
