    I went camping at the Grand Canyon on the National Forest land south of the park, and heard a bugle way out of season. It scared me shitless. I couldn't think about what it was until the morning and by then I'd spent all night awake waiting to hear another bugle even closer than the last 10. I have no idea what caused it to Bugle in the spring, but it was rather unsettling at the time.

    chistine lane so you are a vegan then I take it. Otherwise you have no leg to stand on saying hunting, processing of an animal, then eating that animal is a waste. Not to mention 100% of the profits made from hunting and a significant amount of the sale of hunting supplies goes directly to the conservation of these animals. You can get emotional and bad mouth hunting but without it there would be no more big game animals in North America. How much money have you spent on wildlife conservation?

    Ah the song you hear in the mountains: Start with an ambient rattle paired with a soft shivering tambourine for the leaves, wind, and rodents. A little bit of guitar, because there are no shortcuts when traveling, every step is a little lower or higher than the last. And finally, a wood whistle for an elk. The sound of an elk makes this piece especially unique, because the song is so soft you might not notice it until the elk sings.

    AWESOME VIDEO GUYS! The elk is about the only big game animal I have ever been interested in hunting. I believe it is the fact that they can be called in like predators! But hearing the distant bugle on the hunting shows gives my goose bumps! This video magnified that by a hundred!! You could tell he caught a scent he didn't like. I guess the cow's scent in the area took over any caution the bull had. But my heart was about to jump out of my chest when it turned & looked in the camera!

    They taste delicious and have some extremely healthy meat. Why does it bother you that people eat meat from the wild? Do you question why all predators eat meat? The whole "use every part" statement is kind of stupid and ignorant of people to claim. The hide is about the only useful byproduct and we used to be able to drop off at collection sites like vfw or Boy Scouts to use. But thanks to activist we now have to toss is down a canyon. But i guess it makes for happy scavengers. Nothing lives forever more elk probably die of old age and predation then wind up in the freezer.

  • @martinaxe6390

    @martinaxe6390

    +Ievolovel Because of the meat, the challenge, and stewardship reasons. Elk meat is absolutely delicious, and is healthier than any other meat you will find in stores. Hunting, if done properly, connects you closer to nature than any camping trip could. There are so many elk in some areas of the west that the forests are unable to regenerate because of the heavy browsing caused by elk.
