Повечето и днес не го оценяват, предполагам е така с хортата, не ценят това което имат, а им липсва едва когато го загубят.

Живея в Молдова, баща ми и майка ми са българи ! Когато бях малък, майка ми печеше хляб и той миришеше на България ! Когато чуя гайда, сърцето ми става тясно в гърдите . Нашите предци са живели в България , а аз като чуя гайда, започвам да си избърсвам очите . Искам да знаят, че и далеч от Балканите обичаме родината си ! Their is bagpipe anywhere their is sheeper. Their is a strong tradition in France, in Spain, in Turkey, in Bulgaria, in Romania and probably a lot of places I ignore. Bagpipe is basically done with a belly sheep.

Ivan Ivanchev​​ Welcome to my home land! If you're spending 2hrs per day with the practice chanter,that's a great start. My best advise would be to find a local pipe band and join them. They will be more than happy to get you started. Being self taught is ok,i know some reasonably competent self taught pipers. But it really would be best to get lessons. They can work out to be expensive though and this is why i suggest that you find a band. Bands always want students and you will be properly trained. It is easy to get into bad habits if you teach yourself. I can also highly recommend an instrument from a company called bagpipes galore. They are called practice pipes,they have two drones that are made out of brass,tuned to the key of B flat. They get you used to tuning the drones to the chanter and help you to get used to blowing up the bag using correct pressure. They also sound really nice. They are only around £100. I have a set and absolutely love them. If you go to my KZread channel,you can hear them. The company are a really nice bunch of lads and very honest and helpful. How long it takes you to learn the great Highland pipes really depends upon your aptitude and dedication. The standard time to be competent enough to play in public is around 2-3 yrs. If you can't find a local band or tutor,there are quite a few people on KZread that offer basic lessons. Where in Scotland are you? I'm from a border town called Dumfries,but i live in Norwich,England now. By the way,good lung capacity is good for piping but it isn't essential. It is more about good breathing technique. I have a girl friend who is very tiny(only around 5'2 and weighs around 8st) but still an excellent piper. Best of luck learning,it is so worth it. Very satisfying instrument to play and when you get good enough,there is always work available(weddings, funerals etc. Very good money. Even just playing in the street can be good). I was fortunate enough, a number of years back, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, to visit Sofia, Bulgaria...I was STUNNED at the etheral beauty of the city and its wonderful, strong people. I saw many remnants of the ugliness of the Soviet regime, and I prayed then (in St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral) that Bulgaria and its ancient culture would revive and survive...may it be so!

There are two types of Bulgarian Gaidas: Djura and Kaba. The Djura Gaida has a smaller size and sounds high and sharp. The Kaba Gaida is typical for the Rhodope Mountain Region and sounds low and soft. There are different sizes of Djura and Kaba Gaida with different keys. From Bulgaria with love!

What a movie huh brother? I watch it once every 5 years and it still hurts!

I'm from Flanders and I'm going to learn to play the Scottish bagpipes, I've always found the Scottish bagpipes the most beautiful until I heard this, greetings from Belgium.

Try to find a video of uillean pipes. It comes from ireland and it is freaking awesome. But yes of course Scottish and Bulgarian pipes are excellent too.

Има и още как, учудват ме напъните на някои сънародници за да се харесат на някой да се излагат кат циркаджии да пишат на неговия език нямат ли си достойнство и български език за тая работа не знам!?
