Without doubt the Seven Rila Lakes are one of our favorite destinations in Bulgaria. Situated in the Northwestern part of the Rila mountains, the Seven Rila Lakes are a group of glacial lakes that can be seen at elevation between 2,100 and 2,500 metres above the sea level. Interesting fact about the lakes is that each one of them carries a name associated with its most characteristic feature - the tear, the eye, the kidney, the twin, the trefoil, the fish lake and the lower lake.
