The brainchild of producers Jesse Lauter (Elvis Perkins, The Low Anthem) and Sean O'Brien (Dawes, PAPA), the mission of Bob Dylan In The 80s: Volume One is to shed new light on a large cache of Bob Dylan songs that have long gone ignored, covering the period starting with 1980's Saved and ending with 1990's Under The Red Sky (including unreleased material -- the "80s Basement Tapes" -- and The Traveling Wilburys). Album contributors include: Built To Spill, Aaron Freeman of Ween & Slash, Glen Hansard, Reggie Watts, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Lucius, Langhorne Slim, Craig Finn Of The Hold Steady, Deer Tick, Dawn Landes, Blitzen Trapper, Carl Broemel Of My Morning Jacket, Elvis Perkins and more.

My dad heard me listening to Built to Spill a few years back and thought it was Neil Young. It took some good convincing that it was indeed not him. Haha

Same thing happened to my grandpa when I showed him them. He typically hates my music. I had him for a few songs and then played some and he started hating all the distortion lol

I was very stoned and playing random rock n roll music and Neil young came on and after a while I forgot( he stopped singing and was playing his guitar) and I thought I was listening to built to spill. That's when I made the connection
That's a very good cover of one of Bob's most powerful and fascinating songs. Nice work!

What a fantastic cover, so well done.
KCRW played this cover a few days ago. Had no idea built to spill covered one of my all time bob dylan songs. And it was built to spill. yay.
Mike Richmond (Love Tractor) also covers this acoustically. Worth a listen.
Amazing. Doug and band made an incredible song better. His melodic vocal choices enhanced the dramatic arc of the song.

excellent rendition. vocals are too *inside* - technically speaking :) - but the groove is quite perfect.
