Building Your Own Bike Park | GMBN Rides Berm Park With Seth’s Bike Hacks
Спорт
After riding with @SethsBikeHacks (Seth Alvo, aka Seth's Bike Hacks/Berm Peak) at Bentonville earlier this year, we knew we had to go and check out Seth's bike park - Berm Park! While over in North Carolina, Rich and Anna took a trip over to Chestnut Mountain to see Seth's creation, and catch up with the man himself to learn more about how the bike park came to life.

It was really cool of you guys to think of me and Berm Park while out here! For the town of Canton, this is a really important draw to bring people to their downtown, as they just lost their paper mill. Whether you know it or not, putting eyes on Chestnut Mountain helps them. Rich and Anna, you rock!

Seth is a national treasure. I'm hoping that more of the small western NC towns follow in these footsteps. Cherokee has Fire-mountain now. all in all it has been a huge success

I rode at Kerr Scott Reservoir in Wilkesboro NC this morning. Great flowy trails.
I'm from North Texas but recently visted the east coast beginning with N Carolina. Didn't bring a bike with me (brought golf equipment)but really wanted to try Seth's Park. So, I picked up a throughly trashed near twenty years old Gary Fisher mtb from a nearby Pawn. Took it to a car wash then picked up a bicycle tool kit rom Wally World and just got the bike ridable(gears didnt function, brakes barely worked but the tires held air). And, I proceeded to ride Berm Park. I ended up packing the bike up and bringing it home on the airplane. It has mow been fukky restored and is hanging on the wall of my show room.
Fun to see Anna smiling and giddy throughout her ride.
This is a collaboration nobody was expecting, but really well appreciated!! Thanks Seth and GMBN :)

Seth rides very well. Anna does not. She has no skills. She cased every jump and clearly has no control of her bike in the air. It’s a mystery to me how she got this job.
@kieronwhitehouse33

@@asifitmatters1 you don’t necessarily have to be good at jumping to be a good rider. Maybe her skills lie elsewhere
@asifitmatters1
10 ай бұрын
@@kieronwhitehouse33 what a pile of nonsense! Jumps and bike control in the air are essential parts of riding MTB! Even cross country riders wearing tight latex pants are jumping nowadays. So whatever skills she may have in other domains they are totally irrelevant to GMBN. The clue is in the name…
@FoundHarpy438
10 ай бұрын
@@asifitmatters1wow, way to be negative. I ride technical blacks all the time, but am still trying to figure out how to jump. There is so much more to mtb than just jumping. Besides her job isn’t to be good at biking, it’s to be a presenter and to have good tech knowledge, which she is great at both.
@asifitmatters1
10 ай бұрын
@@FoundHarpy438 crawling down a black trail doesn’t mean you are able to ride them. I too can drive slowly around Monaco, don’t claim to be a racing driver though or car expert. If you can’t jump then you aren’t a well rounded modern mountain biker. It’s as simple as that. There are several aspects to riding, sure, but the ability to clear “normal” jumps, gaps and drops is an essential and integral part of it. And for all you geniuses arguing that this is ok let’s not forget that she gets paid to do this. She’s supposed to be a professional mountain bike journalist and whilst I by no means expect everyone to have the same riding ability as Sam Pilgrim or Blake Samson, a decent level on par with the others at GMBN is expected.
More colabs like this would be awesome. Seth’s videos are great as well. Get him over here to one of our Bike Parks
It was great to see Seth doing something a little bit different, but also kind of the same! The park looks amazing as well, great work by all involved.
Definitely more content with Seth! I think more content with other MTB KZreadrs would be a win win for all. They get more exposure and so do you. We get content to watch!
Anna and Rich look like they had a great time. Love Seth's channel too!

Very nice. Can’t go wrong with gmbn & Seth. Loved it
Seth is a great guy with a strong sense of community spirit. I first came across him a few years ago when he was doing up a bike to give to somebody that others would recommend. It ended up with a kid about 12 or 13 who volunteered in a bike rescue shop, fixing up old bikes to give to needy kids. His own bike was one of the fixer-uppers. He was speechless when he got Seth's bike and when I saw it was when I clicked the Sub button on Seth's old channel.
Places like berm park in canton and baker creek in Knoxville is what makes the southeast one of the best areas to be for Mtb in my opinion, you can ride year round without having a foot of snow for 2 months, the heat is not it though
Quitting his IT job was the best thing that happened to the MTB world! Love you guys!
good to see yall in my neck of the woods..luv berm park
Any vid with Seth is automatically going to be great. So cool, my favourite KZread channels coming together, we need more of these international vids.
Love it, thanks Seth for hosting GMBN. Great to see two of the best MTB channels together. Berm Park looks amazing, wish we had more of this approach in the UK
Outstanding "why did you decide to buy this place" with the piano hands at 2m09s Anna
Great collaboration! Here's an idea for a future episode: Game of Bike between Blake and Seth!
Love seeing these types of trials. Just finished a session this morning at my local trail called Hydrocut in Waterloo Ontario. Rated as one of the best single tracks around. All funded and maintained by local companies and volunteers.
Absolutely want to give this park a ride next time I’m in NC! Thank you for bringing this idea to life Seth, you’ve brought joy to a community 💛
The true test of trails is the amount of giggles it gets and Anna said it all. Great collaboration with Seth.
You just combined 2 of my favorite channels! Thanks 👍
Berm Park is awesome. I love how it is free and helps people progress with their riding
Awesome for u guys get together to make this video!
Can’t love this enough! Thanks for visiting us in North Carolina!
Seth rocks been follower for few years made one trip to berm park for not so daring mtb rider i enjoyed the park was worth the trip his you tube channel is inspiring and full of new items for biking and things not so great for mtb .
It is so awesome to see the 2 channels together and GMBN in WNC? So good. Hope you guys come back.
Absolutely do more videos with Seth. As a local here to Western Nc it’s nice to see the coverage of the awesome trails systems we are so lucky to have here.
Rode Chestnut Park and Berm peak a couple weeks ago, came down from Connecticut to do so, was a great ride and the back country that the town is building is a great addition to Berm Park. Loved the Bear Country and Wildcat trail! More Colabs!!
Seth is great. Love collaborations like this, do more. And yes I would love to go to Berm Park.
Bring Seth back home.. and make a tour with him over some local parks and trails! This will be a content for months! For both channels!
Love the big smiles. I was smiling too. Do more of this stuff here with Seth for sure 👍😊
Been there once last year and can’t wait to get back this year! I live a couple hours away and there’s a lot of places to ride but when I need to hone in on my jumping skills that’s the place I go

Berm Park and Chestnut Mountain are definitely on my "To Do"! I'm in Eastern NC (Onslow Co) riding parks like Brown's Creek in E-town, Bicycle Post in Greenville, and of course Big Branch BP in Onslow. Thanks to GMBN and Seth for your excellent channels!
Thanks for doing this video on Berm Park. Seth is a really good dude who really put effort into creating a place where people can do fun stuff together.

Not too rowdy and a great place for families to ride! Great job! You’ve come a long way from creatively hanging bikes in a closet in Florida Seth!
Some of my favorite trails I ride over 2 hours just to get there from Georgia. I like that you can jump or not jump on every trail. Thanks for visiting Seth he's a good dude.

daym guys, nice bikes! Seth, come to Sydney - there's some hills that need a bike park, say in Loftus.... cheers mate!
Wish more places in the UK would do this! We finally got a pump track in Colchester but they put it on a sports park and you have to pay for an hours worth at a time! 😢 Seth is a legend. More vids with him please.
Great video. What Seth did for the community was awesome. It was cool me and my son meeting you guys at the the sandwich shop too.
Awesome video, always great seeing you in the states, especially berm park.

Yes! We love Seth and we love GMBN so yes! Weed love more videos.
I would love to see the team come to Beacon Hill in Spokane WA. It's an amazing place, ran by the people and various group that petition for grants and maintain the land themselves. It's pretty big and has everything for all skill levels. It has a mix of private and public land, and it's amazing how well kept it is for not belong to one specific group. It really does belong to the people.
Yes! More videos with Seth please. Hope he makes a GMBN episode on his channel too.
Love this and Seths channels, i cant wait to make the trip out and check out Berm Park, i want to see the air bnb and try those trails too
Happy Memories of being there and 3 wks mtb in NC in July 2023... Pisgah, North Mills, kitima, kanuga... all amazing. Friking humid & hot too... And they like a climb in NC!!! Click bait is WAY bigger than it looks on vids... Unfortunately was in need of tlc when I went. The entry berms to the 10ft step up before the Lilly pad were so gravelly and cut up... Hope it's fixed and swept now ...
Seth would be a great addition to the GMBN family!
Really cool to see you guys visit Berm Park! I'd love to be able to go there one day. Or better yet, would love to see something like this in the Calgary, Alberta area.
As shown elsewhere around the world mtb can revitalise towns with tourism , cool to see these guys work together too 🤙
