Fun fact: a lawyer was staying in the Marriott hotel when the attacks happened. He was in the South tower when it collapsed, and managed to escape to the hotel. From there, he tried to evacuate through the lobby of the North tower, when it too started to collapse. Correct me if Im wrong, but he is the only credited person to have survived the collapses of both towers. Edit: 1 of a few, I believe 14

Hey, ever since I watched this video, I’ve been working on my own world trade center and after two months it’s almost finished. And I don’t have any like editing tools or stuff so I had to place each individual block and that’s why it took so long.

Fun Fact(s): -The 9/11 attacks weren’t actually the first attacks on the World Trade Center, a van (placed by none other than Al Qaeda) blew up in a parking garage near the North Tower. The plan was that the North Tower would fall onto the South Tower. It failed quite obviously. It happened on February 26, 1993. Six died. -There was a plaza to memorialize the six who died, Unfortunately, the plaza was destroyed in 9/11, and the six names are now mixed with the 9/11 victims, both on the rim of one of the memorial fountains and in the museum.

History buff here! The reason why there was a hotel at the WTC complex was because it was a tourist attraction. it was also a government building that had government agencies in them like USPS, restaurants etc business owners come to visit their branch that was in the building, tourist stayed because it was a convenient location, lawyers stayed because they had legal meetings in the building the twin towers were literally a mini city there’s nothing that wasn’t in them that’s why the hotel was around.

You all forgot that the office that was directly struck by the “plane” that hit the pentagon was on of two places that had the documents about the 3 trillion dollars that disappeared the day before. The other place was wtc7 which got hit as long with the other wtc

After you asked at 3:55 I got curious as well, I did a bit of research and the hotel, known as the "World Trade Center Marriott," was primarily driven by the vision of creating a mixed-use development. The idea was to make the World Trade Center not only a hub for international trade and business but also a destination for tourism and hospitality. The Marriott World Trade Center opened in 1981 and provided accommodation for business travelers, tourists, and visitors to the city. Hope this helps!

A lot of people traveled to NY and stayed at the marriot also because like you said it was a tourist destination being the tallest buildings in the world at the time and also because there was the observation deck at the top of the 2nd building.. I think it was called the sky deck or something.. it definitely brought a lot of people to the wtc

Having a hotel in something called a "world trade center" seems like a no brainer. But the idea behind the complex itself is really nice.

i tried building the world trade center a few years back but i wasnt able to finish because i put too much stress on myself to build it. although i did make a memorial for one of my friends who passed to covid on our minecraft realm that was somewhst influenced by the memorial pools where the towers once stood.

You should do other surrounding buildings, Like the One Liberty Plaza, Deutsche Bank Building, Brady Building, etc. It would look very interesting.

I remember back in the days of Minecraft Classic, mid 2011. I’m pretty sure I was the first person crazy enough to build the entire Trade Center complex in 1:1 scale, complete with outbuildings, shopping mall, subway station, and interiors. Pretty great to see there are people such as yourself still carrying on the good work today, and in even greater visual fidelity than I could have imagined back then. Great work!

The hotel was there because the World Trade Center was always going to be a landmark and a tourist attraction, and because many if not most of the companies had a national or international presence so it served people attending meetings and business trips at the WTC too. The buildings meant a lot to people, some so much that they even had their weddings there.

You did a good job with this. You handled this very well. About once a year i get sad and watch videos about the towers and sometimes 9/11 because i lost my father in the attacks. And i cant help but look at videos and read articles about survivors sometimes. My father passed instantly he was in the north tower in the impact zone. But yeah i was sad reading about 2 friend's that were messaging each other on pagers because the cell phones were not working and it led me here. I feel better

There was a hotel at the wtc because it was a massive tourist attraction. There was a hotel and there was a mall underground. There were also restaurants and tourist attractions within the towers themselves, famously the windows on the world restaurant at the top of the north tower and the vista point on the roof of the south tower. On average the wtc could support over 150,000 people in the buildings at once

The Marriott Hotel (3 World Trade Center) formerly known as the Vista International Hotel was for people from out of town who had business at the World Trade Center.

good build, amazing recration, i was there when they collapsed, i have PTSD from it

It's still hard to believe the towers are gone. It still hurts. I remember being a young engineer for Ameritech and we watched every horrific event as it happened. So many civilians, police officers and firemen died that day. No matter what walk of life you're from, be thankful for your freedoms, our republic and democracy. These blessings are very fragile and can be easy to lose.

Heaven knows how long it will be until the World Trade Center complex is fully rebuilt. The cost of the project is in the tens of billions of dollars and climbing. I ask if this is much too high a cost; or is it a necessary down payment on healing?

WTC Fact: The Twin Towers were almost destroyed before 9/11 when a Boeing 707 was flying towards it. The 707 banked right and pulled up before it could crash. The towers were built to withstand a 707 at a slow speed.

This build is bombastic. I’ve always wondered what the Twin Towers would look like from a plane.

The entire basement of the buildings were a large shopping centre, train station serving several lines on the NY metro, and a large car park where a bomb was detonated on 26 February 1993
