Many Thanks!… and Cheers to you too!
You've found a nice piece of earth to build on (weather seems alright too) . I'm looking forward to watching your build. Cheers from B.C.
Should have placed a shingle or some kind of resin paper between the block and the skid so the skid wouldn't have any wicking of moisture of groundwater coming up through the concert block to the skid

Thanks!
if you stagger the blocking it's easier to nail and you won't have to toenail one side
Absolutely Awesome 🥳🥳🥳
I don’t have audio while watching this so you may have mentioned it but what about insulation?
Do the joist get secured to the skids or do they just float on top for the lifetime of the structure?

Thanks for your question, Cody… the joists are toenailed to the skids.
Do you have a list of materials you used to build this? Would love to build one just like it.

Hey Jonny- thanks for your comment… search “Jamaica Cottage Shop”… the build plans/materials list are available there. Thanks for watching!
Is the cinder block footers OK in places where it freezes?

Hey! Im building my own place and this is what i know: in places where it freezes its most recommended to use cinder footers, buried below the frostline . Im in Florida so i dont have to use them but every tip ive seen stresses the urgency of using in snow conditions due to ground shifting from snow
