Great to see that you are back Paepercuts 🥳🥳🥳🥳 You inspired me to make my very first diorama, (at age 59 mind you) which was a jungle themed diorama, of course. Almost finished with it now. It has been a year since I started it, but thanks to all of your previous videos, it turned out spectacular! I have had many compliments on it.

Bedankt Bert! Ik heb er goede ervaringen mee, ik heb werk uit 2016 dat nog steeds goed staat. Het is wel iets wat van veel factoren afhankelijk is en je er een beetje feeling voor moet krijgen door het vaker te doen. Het ene plantje is de ander niet, maar planten met naaldachtige blaadjes werken voor mij het beste. Vaak zijn producten die je voorbewerkt koopt niet voldoende geprepareerd. Mijn Pine Tree video is eigenlijk de techniek die ik nog steeds gebruik. Wat je wil is dat het water verdampt en de glycerine overblijft. Als je ze dan met spuitverf in ieder geval 1 laag geeft blijven ze lang goed. Ik stapel ze dan op tussen vellen bakpapier tot ik ze gebruik, probeer ze niet te koud of te warm op te slaan dat kan ook een negatief effect veroorzaken. Succes met de hobby!

why paint the base, cover it with sand and do lots of work that will never be seen, just to cover the base with a new layer? seems like a waste of time...

I understand your point. It is something I do as an extra layer of security and longevity. I often have to pick up the Dio during filming and of something chips off it's not as noticeable. Thanks for watching!
