Just got mine today! I'm shipping it back tomorrow. The quality is definitely there but it is built so freaking heavy that I see why they have a lifetime warranty. Have fun cousins, I'll go back to my Chinese made skeet reese rods that don't tear the tendons in my shoulder when I cast.

I have watched this, the Seeker video, and the Suzuki rod making videos. They all seem to make the rods the same way. I guess the experience of the workers makes all the difference in a quality rod.

no offense I just don't know your rep or rods but do you guys do any high end rods like IM6 or IM7 steelhead/salmon drift blanks? say comparable to the Lamiglas SI? or the older now vintage LCI GST IM6 rods? titanium eyes, silk wrap all that, low seats, top dollar rods if you will.. if so how is the process different for the IM high modulus graphites and hercules fibers with different resins so forth, just wondering would the process be similar save the handle areas but you get the material already pre made you simply roll it up, bake, sand and polish? hale, maybe you roll up the Lami's I just don't know who makes what? really just interested in the process you showed us is it basically the same for the hercules IM blanks.. BTW I am very jealous of your careers and skills, what a job, making fishing blanks all day, I don't see it getting much better really, I mean you must have a guy that actually field tests those rods right, say guy like me that's been fishing all his life or darn near, knows steelheads rigs and rods been fishing stellies since before sammy specials were invented so that should tell ya something, do you guys get paid to field test and do ya save up the catch and have a blowout a few times of the year? I can see it now, all set up at reiders pond during the big run, smokers, barbys, coolers full of beers, tables full of food, catch one throw in on the barby or in the smoker, maybe you guys set up at a special honey hole summares eh? tell you what say what you will about hercules IM blanks but they ARE the best money can buy, I only have the LCI GST IM6 but it catches more fish than you ... :-) for so long Fenwick was honestly the best you could do, they made the first carbon or graphite rods, decent, but then oh a long late 80's a dood built a company called LCI and started using IM6 hercules fibers and that's all she wrote, I quadrupled hook set, and it works so well with a very light diameter braided so you lose less gear and haul in more hogs.. my venture for a better rod started in about 1985 when I wa on the pilchuck with a buddy and my girl, some of murphys kids running around fishing the willows there at the trailer.. an old timer Loren Hensen witnessed it all, driftin a small chrome corkie with green chartreuse yarn, I had grabbed a fenwick with a year old mono, 12#, those fenwicks just aren't sensitive enough to run the braided so I had to ditch it.. about 8am I felt a tug tipped me onto my toes, I give her ayank and the water exploded, up jumped a steelie what had a tail fin at least a foot wide, the wrist was at least 6", she went up and down and up and down, fight was on arm getting tired, she surfaced many times as to say, not today buddy I am just getting my exercise, nice bright chrome, had to be 28#'s if I am a day old, everyone was in awe, I was in shock, adrenaline at full pinch, this thing is taking me up and down the river 1000 yards each way, about 15 minutes into it the line went super tight, she went still again, thought she was just taking a break, so I hold tight a minute or so later no movement, waited nothing, I pulled hard, FUGG, I'm snagged.. had to break the line, I figger she ran into the willow roots.. HOLY SMOKES where was the gopro then.. welp the day wasn't over, about 10 minutes later WHAMMM!!!!!! another massive strike, same thing, a river monster flips his tail out and runs upstream and breakneck myself in tow, a convinced it to turn back right to where I hooked him and he broke, MASSIVE another HOG! 25#'s minimum, I figure its the buck to the female, he went to run down I followed, came back up, he breached a few more time then did a bunch of rolling and flipping, desperately trying to keep the line tight I finally got control, he headed for the willows I had no choice but to thumb it, SNAP! that old mono gave in, fugg, everyone is just gutted, the old man, the kids, my buddy, myself.. ever since that day I was on a mission for a rod that would run braided in small slow river with sensitivity to run light tackle.. one morning at jerry surplus early 90's everett wa I ran into an LCI GST856 IM6, spendy, $249... in the early 90's that was good change for a rod.. I had the shop worker tap on the tip while I held it, believe it or not I could feel him just touch it, something you wont feel with glass or carbon fiber, I thought a bit, monkeyed around a while longer then paid for it.. never had a better rod, caught more fish on that rod than any rod ever, a small dead maple leaf bumps the line you can feel it.. sadly I gave up when the fish dried up, early mid 2000's, but now they're tearing down dams, planting more than ever, using selective catch programs I want to get back in the game, farmed steelhead is funky, risky and salmon is going to be astronomically priced if this crap keeps up and I like fish too much to not have it on the plate... good luck out there fellas!
