Gold Rush made an awesome video showing a brand new D11 being put together, shows just how accurate (including the yellow treads) the LEGO Model is! kzread.info/dash/bejne/m6lr27iCXZvOYcY.html

I work Cat at in Mossville IL and I am on the team that designs the touch screen displays for the machines. I will tell you the graphics on the phone app are the graphics we use on the actual displays! They nailed it. I ordered this for myself and should arrive tomorrow. I'm excited.
My Dad used to drive a D11T in the gold mines up in Pilbara, Western Australia. He would follow graders to clear out roads and tracks. You don't realise how big it is until you see it in person

Good to see you have something to help you clean up all that dark orange from Geonosis.
As a kid and even to this day I love everything caterpillar, this set looks amazing. I hope in the future lego does more cat themed sets.

A dual engine scraper would be cool too.
What’s interesting is being the guy who tasked with calling Cat and explaining this is what we want to do what are your thoughts. Then starting the whole licensing process, models and then production.
I think what would be cool and probably a fair marketing scheme for LEGO is to make a universial remote control set that looks like one of those massive remote controls for a large scale model. That way, they wont have to use so much time and energy trying to keep up with all the different OSs, i.e. Apple and all the different variations of Android. That way, one could sync with certain sets and not have any interference with other controllers in the area.
I have the old 8275 Set, so seeing this set makes me very excited. It's a must-have!
Me and my dad collected Cat models since about 2000, we started with the Ertl models, and moved into other manufacturers. My dad has so many, I lost count. Unfortunately my father passed away back in February, so this set kinda would be bittersweet to have, granted I can afford it one day before it's retired. I still want it, though. And as for my dad's Cat collection, I will be taking possession of it shortly after I move in the next few weeks.

That’s a awesome looking set dude
wow! it being motorized is an amazing feature to see.
I agree with the idea of having a remote that works with the set. Doesn’t even have to be a fancy custom matched piece, just something that makes it function when my phone doesn’t work with it anymore. I have the excavator from when I was I think 11, and as much as the controls aren’t… ideal for that set, it still works 11 years later.
Love how all terrain it is
That is definitely bigger and better than I expected, quite a good set.
Great job on the review. Definitely need a physical controller to avoid out of date OIS operational issues .
So can you move the machine and use one function of the blade simultaneously? I understand you can't move/tilt/rip all at once but it looked like you could at least move the machine and raise/lower the blade.
There's probably things about this set which justify the price! Maybe the engineering, motors, specialized pieces, licensing costs, etc.
Amazing set!!!!
Just a heads up, the CAT Bulldozer is now available to buy from LEGO! Link: bit.ly/3lbUKZS
Great review as always
someone has to make this as a Cal fire one!
Love the look of the Cat Bulldozer, would sit great alongside my Volvo A60H Dumper Truck.
Thk you for the review it helps me understand what I would like to buy, I had no idea about the Bluetooth problem, I agree controller would be best an won’t die out in time
Spot on David with getting a controller.
love the colored pins
It looks like an impressive kit. The only drawback I see is the price, it’s a bit on the pricey side. But then again, all the great Lego kits cost large amounts of moolah. I’d love to get this one, maybe one day when I win lotto.

some people spend this amount monthly for alcohol and cigarettes, it is still affordable if u save a bit of money.
Just ordered one can’t wait
I hate how expensive it is. It’s making have to choose between this set and the next new super car 1/8 scale that should come out in 2022.
Hey, I need a engine overhaul for my D11t CAT 42131... okay let me look that up on CAT SIS...

Clever points, I salute you 🙌🏻
Great explanation! I have a question: I have finished part 2.I can't turn all the gears smoothly. Did I something wrong and how can I test the gears?
That is a really handsome bulldozer. Are you going to rewiev that Tow truck as well ?
The set looks good and the functions are ok, but the price is a huge cheek. Still no accumulators and still an app that only works with a smartphone, that's not possible at all. You can not even guide the rear extendable arm to the ground (Too bad you just made a cut here in the video). The new chains are cool with their width of 7 studs and I also find the color suitable, however, no more dampers can be attached. Instead of the extendable ladder, LEGO should have used automatic chain tensioners. Then you could adjust the chains to the ground while driving. That this should be the best LEGO technology set I think is a very bold statement. LEGO technology is characterized not only by appearance, but especially by functions and creativity in the implementation. The set looks great, but honestly: There is a lot you can do better. FINALLY INTRODUCE ACCUS! What year are we living in here? Sorry, that had to come out. Still, a super great video. PS: even $400 is way too expensive. You only get half the motors and accessories as the LIEBHERR model and no more, or special parts. That means all the money goes to Caterpillar and LEGO's already very large profit pot. It is an audacity to set the price so high. 350 dollars is more appropriate here.
Can anyone recommend an army builder for rebel or resistance troops for a somewhat reasonable price?
Has anyone commented to tell you that the implement on the back is called a Ripper not a thumb.
Will you livestream this build sometime in the future?
Ty for this
Picked up the Liebherr Excavator when it dropped to about £240 last year. I'm hoping to do the same with this.
0:58 - SxxT!!! There's someone outside,..... spying or whatever!!
How long till someone makes a killdozer mod
The D11T retails for $749.00 Australian, at our current conversion rates, that's $537.00 US. So paying $450.00 US isn't too bad a deal for such a large set. Completely agree with the comments about having an alternate control for both the Liebherr and the D11T. It is an awesome looking build. 🤘🏻
I’m trying to connect mine and it keeps getting stuck at the last step of calibration. Any tips on how to fix it?
This went up 50 dollars in price since this video was uploaded..
it's just a matter of replacing the hub with somehting like an ESP32 based controller.
How much is this kit or where do I find it? I want one
We’re is ur geonosis week 7 I’ve been waiting all summer !!! Love the content
Hi! I bought this bulldozer for my son for Christmas, and we put it together and noticed that the remote control was not operating the movements/items that it showed, for example the ladder was being controlled with the bulldozer buttons. We took it apart, checked the wires, rewired it and put it together again, and it seems its doing it again. Anyone have any suggestions, tips?!?

Finnished my build last week and am experiencing the same issue regarding the apps functions not matching the dozer functions. Did you find a cause or solution? I double checked the connections and they were correct..

Check the orientation of the orange coloured clutch. Page 108,book 1.. In order for the remote functions to match the app the clutch must be fitted to the shaft as shown in the instruction maual. I just tore mine down, spun the clutch around the other way and now all the functions match with the phone app. Hope this helps..

Too easy. Happy to share. That orange clutch has caught out more than a few seasoned Technique builders! Little to no info that i could find on utube but a deep dive and some serious head scratching found the issue. Cheers m8.
Really Cool, but needs a noise generator :)
If they gave us a Heavy Haul truck to scale with a truck, Jeep, RGN Trailer, and Booster/Stinger. I’d pay $1000 just to put this on it.
Less motors, less pieces but same prieme?? Absolutely not worth it

I could understand having a $500 price tag since it has several larger pieces, but i guess the extra $50 comes from the licencing...
Just finished this awesome build a dedicated controller would be perfect unable to film my D11 at work
Incredible! worth 450 dollars!
Yellow is the common color for construction equipment, not in any way exclusive to Caterpillar. JCB, Komatsu, Volvo are very often all yellow.
His camera angle made this set look horrible but it’s not
Anything with a CAT license on it you will pay extra for the name tag on it
Can only see the D11 on website?
Does it not bother you that the ripper can't actually ripp?
He could have uses for his genosis mock
E foarte bun la făcut curatenie😂 Excelent for a clean 😂
I hate not having a real controller. The cool thing about Lego is we can get off our phones and play with a real tangible toy! And to then have to sit behind a screen sort of takes you out of the moment. Also, technology doesn't last forever. It's buggy! One day we may not be on smart phones. Technology moves incredibly fast. In the next 15 years, we may be moving away from pocket phones as we know them.
Did u make the build video
Im so buying one
About the longlivity: Control+ will change or die - because C+ is a 'product of its own'. The question is: Will PoweredUp as a protocoll die..? No one knows. But if I take a look at all the electronics I damaged over the years... I usually look at it this way: The connectivity "port" is the crossaxle. Electronics and possibilities change over time, but as long the cross axle is a cross axle, you can always upgrade even very old models to the newest features of Lego-electronics. =)
TRACK TENSIONING
I wish the tracks were black, they are usually black on the real life D11T. Does anyone know if there is a black option for the tracks?
Stickers, Really, at that price? Come on Lego
Have you tried controlling it with a PlayStation or Xbox controller through the app? Those will link to your phone now.
I’m sorry that’s incorrect in the d6 to d11 it’s a bike handle grip to steer the dozers left and right and it’s a switch to make it go forward netural reverse
$619.00 at the Lego store in Chinook centre mall. Calgary Alberta Canada. Add 5% GST to that as well. Pretty pricey but oh so cool.
I bought it for €260 on sale.
Alot of money in Denmark it costs 545 dollars
Shame it does not drive the top sprocket as in real thing to give ground clearance, missing detail
They need to make one Smaller and More affordable! $400 bucks is a lot! Wondering if Someone will do a Moc of Transformers movie Devastator?🤔🤔🤔
build it and them smash it or drop it from a roof.
Liebherr? It is pronounced more akin to Leabhairr, with ‘leab’ as in leaf and ‘hair’ a bit flatter and an emphasis on the ‘rr’. The name would literally translate into loveman or dear man.

You’re right, that’s how it’s pronounced… in German. But the rules don’t necessarily work that way. Must we also say Beh Em Veh instead of Bee Em Double-you? Must we rid ourselves of Evan Eowan Ian Ivan Yanni Janos Juan Xuan Gianni and call them all Johan????
@Ohne_Silikone
2 жыл бұрын
@@drfutato eh, BMW is an abbreviation and as such it makes perfect sense to just call it by its letters in whatever language. As for proper names I do appreciate it when people make an effort in pronouncing them correctly, otherwise we might as well call everybody John. It shows a bit of respect towards identity. It is no hanging matter though and I for one am very much used to people butchering my name. Still a little bit of effort goes a long way. In this case I was just providing some information. If you don’t want any of it, then embrace your ignorance and call the machine whatever you like. I am certain it doesn’t hold a grudge.
Dealbreaker question at this price point: does it come with a remote? Some time later: oh, never mind. 13:15 no ,they are only going to do that after they cancelled the app and leave you no other option than buying an overpriced controller, at least that is what I would guess. In that respect, why not outfit it with a different brand power system? There are quite many of them nowadays.
@krecikowi

I like old remotes much better. No app needed.
price has already dropped to 350 euros here in the Netherlands
Powerball is over $620 million....real D11 here I come. Haha
와우!
Fully agree on the Control+ statements. LEGO make a LEGO Control+ controller which can operate all Bluetooth LEGO devices/sets. SBS is right - we could all be running ChinaiPhone in 10 years and our LEGO sets would be bricked (you see what I did there? - smartphones not working...bricked...LEGO). But yeah - depending on smartphones running iOS 14-18 or Android 7-13 and the likes is really NOT a way to goo for LEGO bricks that lasts 50+ years.
Weird intro, camera shakes too much :) Nice set, I would love to build it
Me over here growing up running real machines
Again the latest better for this guy. Keep it going. This Guy is sold to the brand whatever the sell
I guess the Caterpillar was overprized by Lego .... in a way to *compensate* for the V-22 Osprey, that was pulled out of international stores and its own due to some controversy surrounding its supposed military ties. Knowing thousands of boxes had been put into production and shipped ... you gotta make up for some of that $$$ lost money somehow, including the design process.
smartphone app for controls totally is a bummer... i was considering that unit until i realized it was smartphone controlled
Anything with an app and uses batteries is automatically not worth it for me. It’s a cool set but I dislike app controlled stuff and battery powered stuff. Both combined doesn’t work with me.

That is not how tracks are adjusted on a real d11 lol
great video, only criticism is the way you pronounce liebherr. LY-BER, its sounded out as LEEB HERR with a long R. or almost LEEBERR.
Unfortunately, there is a massive problem with the CAT. After a long period of standing still, the front suspension bends, see: the video from Brick-a-brac, in the second part he addresses the CAT problem (LEGO® REACTION to the MCLAREN...)
Must be Awsome to never have to pay for Lego.
$450 is cheap to me lol I can’t wait to throw my money away at this

$50 cheaper would be a lot better, but otherwise it looks good.
Unfortunately the use of a single motor is a deal breaker for me. This represents extremely poor value compared to the Liebherr 9800 and really compromises the realism, as modulating the blade and ripper while moving is key and disappointing in a set of this price.
Pog
IM BUYING ME ONE....
Thumb? You mean Ripper.

$200 for the LEGO set, and an additional $250 for the CAT stickers. 🙄
