To watch a former race track be brought back to life, especially in this era, is a real treat. Good job everyone!

In factories where there is heavy traffic, they use gasoline to put on the final trowel finish. It hardens the surface of the concrete tremendously. (And turns it black) It really works well and is a good cheap way to do a hard finish to slow wear down a lot.

To be fair, this was always the plan, he just got to accelerate it, because generous people stepped up to help him out in a big way (316 Speed, as per his admission). I won't be shocked to see them repave the whole outer oval when the budget recovers from this.

Cooper must be delighted with all this “Italian landscaping” going on. Cement and asphalt everywhere. Now all you need is Mary on the half shell and 2 lions at the front gate.

I hope he doesn't destroy all of those Vics. I really want one as a daily as I've always like the panther cars. Sure slow, gas mileage sucks and all but to me they sure do make a better daily and beater than a little S10 or accord.

I suggest being safe and letting the asphalt cure as much as possible before you go drifting at all on it. Better safe than sorry.

Dude. This is so incredible. Talk about childhood dreams coming true! And a concrete skidpad over 1 acre? Hay-zeus..... That's just phenominal! Now, not only do you have a cool toybox full of toys, you have about the raddest sandbox any dude could want! Also, Yes to the SxS track with all the excess dirt. You have more than enough property and the noise is a non-issue, and since you already have the greatest playground for paved stuff, why not have a sweet SxS track? Talk to someone to design a freestyle/circuit layout (you have more than enough dirt) and go to town!

It’s so exciting to see how well your race park is coming together. I can’t wait to see it fully completed, with the grass in place.

This isn't little money, this is likely hundreds of thousands of dollars in work. Man can't wait to see when Adam, Taylor and the boys come throw down. It's gonna be a good time.

Joe Dugas Rebar and mesh is not for freezings but rather to make the slab stronger and help mitigate cracking, locking etc. you can use fiber glass reenforced concrete to not use rebar and mesh but the best way to make a strong long lasting slab like the burn out pad is fiberglass reinforced concrete and mesh and put in precrack lines or expansion joints.

When it's all finished you need to talk to formula drift about having an event there. Congrats on all this brother!!! Great thing for the community there.

FD is based out of set tracks such as Long Beach, Atlanta & Orlando. They don't really set competitions at other tracks. Its been the same track routine for quite a few years now.

Know what would be cool is if in the center of the burnout pad the concrete was colored the color of the logo in the logo was written out in concrete in the dye color but that is extremely simple but that would be cool if the actual concrete that was poured the section was the logo in the color of the concrete that was poor in that section but that is extremely extremely extremely expensive insanely expensive but that would be cool and I would not imagine even get hurt do that anyway to get the right dyed Concrete in the right spot and not fill it over and do it right and that would be cool but let me tell you I had a buddy of mine do a driveway in different colors cuz his wife wanted it that way and it cost him seven times as much as it would have normally cost to pour a driveway

You're absolutely correct. Asphalt edges break, and break and break. Then you replace it all. Gotta have concrete curbing to stop it.

Ii can't believe it's taken ma a year to watch this construction part of the conversion series. Probably because I spent many years is construction. But I just had to come here and say what a top notch crew bossman has assembled. So many times I've seen lazy crews trying to stretch out a job. But these boys were on the ball. Not only do they respect their boss, but they obviously respected the project & all got behind it. Great work!

David Simmons I do some of the same stuff, lots of cleaning and sealing of nice outdoor areas as well. I don’t mind when the homeowner if attractive. And female.

Yeah I think it would tick me off a little..... Prolly cause a lot of the people who watch me work only get in the way and I have to get out and talk to them, irritates me sometimes.

When you said “1000” yards being poured, I knew exactly what you were doing. Being in the concrete industry, that’s a lot of yard for one place but it was definitely worth it! Looking good. Not to mention fibers, super strong concrete slab. ✌️😎 Can’t wait you see You guys run each other off the track.

Redoing the entire track is the best option the migrate further water damage, You can see all of the cracks on the surface, The amount of water that flows under it is why there are tons of pot holes and damage in the track already, Patches do not work, Never have, That is why people hate it when they do patch jobs they end up worse after the fact. With the new asphalt on the track blocking previous water routes will create more damage above creating pockets of water that will flush out fine sediment and sooner or later will cause an area to hollow out until enough force/weight is applied to the asphalt and collapse creating a new pot hole, While that new hole will cause more damage.

I did blacktop for years, brings back memories. We did a airport -private- and all kinds of paving. We once did a golf course where we dumped on a huge tarp then skid loaders carried the asphalt to the paths.

Your still allowed to meet up with friends as long as everyone is healthy, just make sure the group is less than 10 people

Every one of these episodes on the FF end up making me so emotional, I’ve been watching since you guys were still worrying about the rocker panels on Leroy. It feels like you guys have came so unbelievably far and done so much awesome shit with so many stories to tell with every car and person. The thought of being able to finally come to an event and see you guys in November makes me actually tear up, so excited!

Maybe I'm crazy, but I love me the smell of hot asphalt in the morning. Track's coming along nicely, and makes me wish I was in Florida!

Near my office (here in the UK) they were resurfacing a road, about 20 meters long. It took them 3 months and cost god only knows how much. Every time I walked past there were 10 guys in high-vis clothing stood around watching one guy with a shovel. It's amazing to see how much faster asphalt can be laid down when it is being paid for privately, rather than being paid for no expense spared out of tax payers money

I'm so excited about this and I'm in another country..... I can't imagine how much excitement you have in your veins. Killing it!

I really hope Cleetus makes this track something like OSW, hosting some chill drift events.

Can't wait to see the race. Paid for as soon as it was announced. Love the changes that are happening at this track.
