📜 About the Speaker:
Mawlāna Saaleh was raised in the Bay Area, where he completed his Hifz under Mufti Mudassir. At the age of 17, and after completing his introductory Arabic books, he journeyed to South Africa, enrolling in Darul Uloom Azaadville, where he studied the traditional Dars-i Nizami. He then earned his bachelor’s at Columbia University, majoring in History. Most recently, he completed a Master's from the University of Chicago and is now an Ifta student at Darul Qasim College, where he has trained to be a mufti (scholar qualified to give legal rulings). His primary interests are Hanafi legal theory, Indian-Persian poetry, and creative writing.
He has a special interest in tafsīr and ʿulūm al-Qurʾān and has regularly been teaching courses in the Department of Qurʾānic Exegesis and the Department of Qurʾānic Studies & Recitation at Darul Qasim since 2014. Additionally, Mawlāna Kamil completed a BA in Organizational Leadership from Benedictine University and a MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science) from Dominican University.
