The Algorithm is working...I was just researching timber framing a couple of days ago. Now I see Bill from Bill and Ted's Excelent adventure making something cool!

This is Nate Armstrong, Sage’s brother. This looks really awesome and I’d like to do something like this one day with my family

Always love seeing a Fr. Ed guest spot. Barn looks great. Love seeing the evolution of the process. Hope you got a good deal on the crane truck!

@@devhammer thanks! Yep, Ol’ Yeller was a steal. And I had originally planned on selling it when I’m done building, but now I’m not so sure…it’s convenient owning a crane…

I Love a Good Crane Raising! Priceless owning your own Crane. I saved enough on mine the first Year it paid for itself and more. You can add a Bucket and give yourself a man lift! Perfect when Finishing your Structures!🤠👍

How long did the barn take?

@@TomTammyOffGridHomestead hard to say, because I was working on other projects at the same time, and this was built over an extended period. But I’d say between cutting the trees, milling the timbers, cutting the joinery, and erecting the barn I was probably at around 6-8 weeks or so of work. Thanks for watching!

@@GillyCustom do you have a mortise saw or did you use a mortise bit and chisel? Any Scarfe joints? We ave the same type of builds going.

I rough out my mortises with a chain mortiser, the clean them up with chisels & slick. No scarf joints on this particular building, but lots on the house frame, which will be featured in another video soon. Stay tuned for that one.
