Building The Best DIY Power Rack with Lat Pull Down Tower/Rowing Pulley! 2020 (Part 1/2)

Ойын-сауық

Having a squat rack to hold the weight is nice but having a full power rack with a lat pull down tower is even better! Fully Wooden DIY!

I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the kzread.infoUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B

Very cool man. I made the buff dudes style rack back in march after failing to get a steel one when they all sold out everywhere. I have been very impressed with the capabilities of wooden racks. Mine is more stable than my buddies 800-1000$ rep fitness cage and I am just as confident in it's abilities. It barely wobbles even doing 450 lb rack pulls. I love you're design though, especially with the cable tower you put on there. If I was to build another I would totally steal your design lol.

I'm very happy with this video. Finally someone ballsy enough to make a proper joint. I would like to see one of those Japanese three way joints though. Or maybe some mortise and tenon joints that go through to the other side.

Make concrete weights! Go fully-fledged Fred Flintstone! Very nice build. I'm not really handy but I think I'll give it a go. I would probably insert the pull-up bar THROUGH the 4 X 4 and attach it on the outside. This will lessen the strain on the screws inside the wood because the load would be supported by the wood itself instead of the screws.

Nice work. So many DIY racks being posted these days. From DIY Guru's steel rack to DIY Creators to Buff Dudes to this. All different designs with different price points. Rack styles with different benefits. I'm a fan of the Buff Dudes design that also uses 4x4 and they recently loaded it to over 1000lbs to test max loading. It didn't even blink. The DIY Guru steel one requires welding skill but it is nice looking rack. I would need to still buy the bar and weights which could be pretty pricey.
