Trying to translate British is a challenge here across the pond. So a biscuit is a cookie, a crisp is a potato chip, a boot is a trunk and apparently a "garden" is a small overgrown field full of weeds that if you mowed it, you'd probably find a 1975 Plymouth sitting on cinder blocks...so I'll add "garden" to my translated list. Thanks friend...I mean, um, mate?

Great video, Jonny and a commercial beer sounds like a great idea. I am super jealous. In fact, I'm super jealous of anyone who has a shed or garage to brew in and can leave their equipment permanently set up. I have a flat and whilst it is on a Scottish island and I have a spectacular sea view, I have to brew in my kitchen and have empty bottles secreted all over my flat ready for the next brew. I appreciate that you've probably got this year's schedule sorted but I'd be really interested in a video which looks at other home brewers' set ups, particularly those where they are challenged for space. On a separate note, at the Christmas party, you mentioned how good Five Points' Green Hop is. I just had a case delivered this week (lovely Five Points deliver to the Scottish islands!) and it is excellent!

Idk if you'll see this, but I had a random question about beer aging I figured I'd ask my favourite beer-related content creators. I've gotten my hands on a 17% pilsner from eastern Canada, supposedly the strongest lager in North America, and I was wondering if you had any insights regarding bottle-aging lagers, especially lagers of that strength! From the looks of the bottom of the bottle, it is definitely chock-full of yeast too.

This would be more sustainable and cheaper for those of us on this side of the pond. Just did a NEIPA with mandarina Bavaria after you mentioned it on the podcast. Just cold crashing. To be honest, I wouldn't really recommend the one I used, hence why I didn't dwell on it. Cool project. I enjoyed watching it. @@davidmallard8729 I made a rig to help with this. It's a stainless steel carbonation cap connected to a low pressure propane regulator connected to a gas disconnect all with regular gas line. Probably about 30USD in all. Plug the carbonation cap into your regular gas disconnect from your tank and then the other disconnect onto your corny keg. You get a consistent 1/2 psi of pressure delivered to the corny, just enough to break the vacuum and fill the headspace when pulling pints from my reconditioned Angram beer engine.

Awesome build. I have a workshop in my garden where I want to add a brewery section in, this video is great inspiration for that build starting in the spring (I hope). What did you do about water? Did you make any type of pipes from the house or are you just taking water from the house and into the brewery? And are you taking all the equipment inside the house to clean it?
Great video. What added extras did you buy from Dunster house i.e what thickness walls, insulation ect. Thanks
Hi CBC guys! Love your content, love your channel, love your insights!
Great project Jonny! I'm about to move house and looking to put an outbuilding up to double up as a brewery and office space for two. I saw the company you bought the building from (been looking at them myself) but which one did you go for?
Great vid, great content, congrats the brudio looks great. Highlights what can be accomplished with a relativly small space. I will be doing something similar in the next few weeks and hopefully will be be able to do something similar. Just one question, where do you clean your brew equipment, as i quite often find myself using our kitchen sink.

We use an outdoor tap with a foodsafe hose, and clean on the patio just outside. But also because of the tiling we can do a fair amount in the Brudio itself... just not the pressure wash bits.
Congratulations with the brewdio. Looking forward to lots of home brew content. Could you do a NEIPA with local uk or European hops. This would be more sustainable and cheaper for those of us on this side of the pond. Just did a NEIPA with mandarina Bavaria after you mentioned it on the podcast. Just cold crashing. By the way where are you cleaning and getting your water. Seems like you could do with at least an outside kitchen sink on the beer patio outside of the brewdio. Maybe a reverse osmosis setup somewhere.

Let us know how it pans out! We have lots of plans to brew with British hops this year, and to feature them more in general. The water comes from the outside tap via a food safe hose - I can clean well on the tiles and the patio, and use brew buckets as a sink
The amazing disappearing orange hoodie! I couldn't quite figure out what was on the wall above the FV on the right. A heat exchanger?
That turned out great! I'm very jealous! Don't want to invest so much time and money when I'm only renting out a place though (even if I had the space in the garden...) Could you give more details in the shed "kit" that you built please?

To be honest, I wouldn't really recommend the one I used, hence why I didn't dwell on it. Not because it's not up to scratch but because the company (Dunster House) were not the most efficient or helpful. Especially once they got my money. However, in general the key things to look for are decent insulation, quality windows, and a long warranty!
This video came at a perfect time! We're moving to Brighton and the wife has allowed me to have a proper brew space so I don't make a mess in the kitchen. Any guidance for someone with probably even worse DIY skills?

@TheCraftBeerChannel

I'm collecting it in a bucket annoyingly. Can't plumb the studio in as then I'd need planning permission. So I collect it and put it in a butt for the garden.
Great work! I wonder where do you clean your equipment and dispense the water? Did you consider building a DIY tiny CIP unit so that you won’t need to move the tanks around for cleaning? I would prefer to assign this space to brewing only and keep the studio indoors as you might need this cleaning area and a tiny bar maybe?
@TheCraftBeerChannel
2 жыл бұрын
I don't need to move the kit to clean it. The Grainfather has a CIP system, and the conicals can easily be cleaned in place with the bottoms open and a jug underneath!
How well isolated is it? Do you use a dehumidifier after brewing? I'm so afraid my pc and books would turn in a fungus mushroom farm.

Cool project. I enjoyed watching it. Question (or observation): Inside the Brudio, it looks like there might be an overhead light that is isn't the same color as your vloging light panel and the light from the windows (5200K-5600K) and gives off a yellowish-green hue on the wall behind (between the center and picture on the right). Do you turn that off when doing a proper video or will you replace that bulb/light with something more tuned to daylight?

Probably about 30USD in all. Plug the carbonation cap into your regular gas disconnect from your tank and then the other disconnect onto your corny keg. You get a consistent 1/2 psi of pressure delivered to the corny, just enough to break the vacuum and fill the headspace when pulling pints from my reconditioned Angram beer engine.
