My husband works in construction and does everything from framing to drywall, etc. He is sitting beside me and as soon as you said, "Drywallers be like NOOO!!" He said, "What is he doing? Is he putting drywall mud on the wood? NOOO!" Lol 😂😂😂

Ahahaa! I had the same cringing as a former professional painter when he started laying down latex paint over wet concrete block. It's going to look good for probably a month, and then the concrete is going to start steaming as it fully dries underneath the layers of latex and it will bubble and peel off in SHEETS. That concrete needed to dry with a dehumidifier for at LEAST a week, especially after pressure washing! And then an oil base primer to seal and coat everything to prevent seepage and off gassing!

Got me thinking; if bought warehouse rather than rent. Couldn’t they afford to have the main rooms prepped professionally; then add the personal touches needed for KZread. Probably costs a lot more than I’m imagining 🤷‍♂️😂

@@CJShopland_Art oh yeah! I'm sure its WAY more than you're imagining. Lol And with inflation right now, multiply that by even more lol I'm sure he could probably technically afford it, but it wouldn't be smart spending when they can do a lot themselves. They will save over $100,000 AT LEAST by doing all this stuff by themselves. That's a very rough estimate and I'm am estimating on the lower end here.

hey, I saw the wall leak problem and full honesty you may wanna tun off the water and see if that does anything to change the river. At the very least you could rule out if it's a plumbing problem or a broken pipe that way! My second suggestion is to check in on the caulking it's this white stuff that seals in your walls where it meets the ceiling (sometimes it can grow old and flake off and let in water) normal hardware stores like home depot and lowes sell it! (Only if you are able to sometimes it hard to see it!) You'll want a bultyl-rubber caulk for that. It also could be that the flashing (a metal seal where your wall meets the ceiling is busted, In some cases older buildings like that can have extremely clogged gutters that are known to cause that issue). I'm not a professional I have done my fair share of dealing with big renovation projects. I hope this helps point you in the right direction and good luck with the warehouse! I hope you guys have fun with it. Stay safe while doing it!

It’s all about creating in both scenarios, but I love how you’re able to show the bonding and hanging out vibes that really make doing a huge project like this so special. So onboard for this journey and cannot wait to see the progress as you turn this into the space you’ve dreamt of! Respect! ❤❤❤

Use Bondo instead of wood filler please. It’s easy, durable and sands really well. You might need to invest in a couple of cordless sanders. Also the door to the merch room could use the commercial PVC strip curtains to keep the dust out. Pallets and cardboard boxes often help dispense more dust so the storing area should be separate from the shipping area or at least use more strip curtains. This is going to be an amazing learning experience and having a great crew really helps! Good luck!

Oh and on the set walls, run a 2x4 from the bottom corner of the wall out to the support arm on each side, then put casters on the walls. Every production I've worked on has set walls built like that. That was the walls can be moved at anytime by simply rolling the walls to where ever you want.

I have a bunch of set walls like that that I made. I suggest big wheels on the support legs. Then when you need to move a wall, you tilt it back onto the legs then roll it where you want it to go. That's what we use.

I know nothing about how to fix the leak. BUT I do suggest getting on the roof and perhaps putting dye into some water and pouring it where you think the leak might be. So maybe you can see if that is where the leak is coming from? Yk, if the colour comes through to the inside

You're a crafty and smart guy, you can probably fix that outer wall yourself. Start with the roof and try to find where the water is coming in at. Just think like water. Water follows gravity and will find the holes, so overlap what needs it and seal what needs it. As far as the mold, that will take some PPE and time. Probably lots of Kilz. I'm not an expert there, tho. Excited to see the end product! Best of luck!
