you know that aquascape pond foam at $90usd a can...you can buy the waterproof Gorilla foam for [same size can with the spray spout] for $14usd a can...yes it's tan instead of black...but stones stick to it like the black stuff and hides away just as well....for a 5th of the cost.

@@SRM_NZ hi thanks for watching! I’m from the UK. But yes there are many brands that are a fraction of the price as ‘pond foam’ and are exactly the same!
Now thats a pond, it look absolutely stunning 👏👏
Well done matey , lovely job .
Cool AF. Before and after is crazy. Lucky guy.
Wow what a beautiful pond you are so talented
refreshing to see a real pond, great job mate
Mate that looks amazing,not just the pond but the whole garden!!! Well done🔥🔥🔥
Have a look at some gas struts for beds to help lift the decking over the filter pit

@@deanhargreaves5958 thanks for the idea! It is on my list of jobs to do, to make it a bit easier to lift. It isn’t heavy as I made it look on camera, I had pretty bad sciatica that day, but gas struts would definitely make it easier! Thanks
Absolutely stunning pond. I would definitely keep an eye out for the roots of the tree near the fence. Otherwise beautiful. ❤❤

Awesome stuff m8
Your pond looks amazing. I much perfer your natural style pond to koi tanks. I have one question if you don't mind explaining and showing on video if possible. You don't have a bottom drain, but rather a grill that is connected via gravity's feed. Have i got this correct? What exactly is this? I dont think I've ever seen this method on youtube. Thanks

Proper pond that mate
Similar from what like our blood cousins across the “pond” DO . & too think many fibreglass or like myself BoxWeld for a more clinical look with no rough edges BUT yrs is more natural with many edges for a good itch “Just goes to show” 👍🏻
Looks Lovely, nice one What the Heron can't land inside your wire they don't mind getting their feet wet.!

@@anthonystevens6733 for the winter you mean? If so, I’ve been racking my brain for a while now trying to think of clean,secure ways to add some polycarb or similar on the top. Haven’t found the perfect solution yet but hopefully I will soon 😅
many will tell you you shouldn't put rocks in and gravel as it will collect the muck from the fish but you will get a nice bio film on them. very nice job. I guess alot of hard work. just finished mine.

@@yorkshirekoi2246 thanks, With the pebbles at the bottom I’ve utilised a suction grid system, which will prevent the vast majority of the build up of muck and act as a part of the filter system. I will be doing a video on this soon. Thanks for watching, I’ll be sure to check out your channel!

Looks amazing! Just curious, where does the water go if it rains enough to overfill? Is it dangerous to fish having electricity over the water if a cable fell in? Cheers
@KoiBoyUK
9 күн бұрын
Thanks Andrew. The lowest point of the liner is near the back of the path, I will be making an overflow hole in the skimmer eventually so it goes out there instead. The garden is naturally slightly higher compared to the surroundings so there is low/no risk of the garden flooding. The electric fence I have is made especially for ponds. I have seen the wire in the pond a few times after storms and all the fish were acting normally. I have a video about it here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/l6OBp8mHhdbZqdY.htmlsi=Gmmnau5hRQttrOta

@@KoiBoyUK happy days brother
Looks very attractive, my 4500 gallon Koi pond is also a “natural” in ground pond but I think you have made a big mistake lining it with rocks, you really don’t want anything rough that the Koi can rub and injure themselves on in the pond! When they get Parasite infections…which they will, they will rub themselves against anything they can which can cause secondary infections!
@KoiBoyUK
21 күн бұрын
@@ces69hi thanks for watching! Yes it is always going to be a risk with rocks in the pond but having 2 for a decade with rocks, I haven’t had injuries caused by flicking once. Perhaps I’ve just been really lucky but I also believe as long as there are no sharp angles on the rocks, the likelihood is quite low. For me the low chance is worth it when you take into account the extra enrichment you give the koi by providing nooks and crannies for them to be able to forage etc.
@ces69

@@KoiBoyUK Well good luck, fingers crossed, but you also probably realise it is reducing your overall gallonage for the overall pond size and make it a bit tricky to calculate in the conventional way if you didn’t use a flow meter when filling. If you didn’t there is a pretty accurate way to calculate using salt and a decent salt meter, which will be necessary for treatments!
@KoiBoyUK

@@ces69 thanks for the tip, That could come in handy! At the beginning of the video there is a flow meter being used when filling up :)

I hate the rectangle brickwork builds that are 3/4ft out of the ground. They are so false. You built my ideal pond. Some Acer trees and a few bonsai trees will set this off. Perhaps some bamboo in pots to stop it spreading. Overall perfect well done. Very very jealous.

@@smoggydrones5664 thanks! Yea, I have nothing against those styles, but they just aren’t for me. I believe this style give the fish more stimulation which I like. Good idea with the acres and bonsai! I’m waiting for what’s currently planted to grow before adding anything else to prevent the planting looking crowded :)
