I saw this video, and it resonates with me so well. I built my first PC when I was 13 (coincidentally, I used a similar case to yours). Now that I am 21, I am also looking forward to building a new PC this year, but I will wait for the next CPU and GPU releases. Oh, and I also want to make an ITX build as well. "gaming time"

hey think you put together a great pc. one thing i noticed was that your side panel fans were set to exhaust air. but since they sit right next to your cpu cooler, you might actually be restricting airflow passing through the cooler. air is going through the front of your case and almost immediately exhausted out the side. most of it will come out the side before it can make it through the cooler and out the back exhaust fan of the case. the benefit of your current setup is that it helps you exhaust hot air from the gpu if that’s what you wanted to optimize for.
@JasonZhao
Ай бұрын
Yea I’ve been messing around with different configurations plus curves, only reason I set them up for exhaust is because of a video on the case from KZread where the guy shows different configs with temps. I was worried about the same thing so I shifted my side fans as far back towards the cpu as possible hoping to not “lose” any intake air!
@DarrinLin

@@JasonZhao ultimately if your temps look good then you’re ok leaving it as is. just thought i’d let you know in case it’s running hotter than expected.

Don't worry man, the 7900X3D may have better gaming than the 7900X but the way the cores switches in the Dual CCD 7900X3D will kept it from outperforming this non 3D chip. So it is still a wise choice man!
im building mine very soon!!! I cannot wait ive been on a i7 2600 for 9 years. I have $1350 in microcenter credit

exciting, there’s so much you can do with that price point
You should have bought the 7800x3d but still a great build, congrats mate! The first thing you should do is to UNDERVOLT the cpu with pbo curve optimizer if you didn't already. It helps with temps, especially in a case this small.

Yep it’s recognized!
just a tidbit in case the PSU was one of your "reused" parts. general rule of thumb is to replace PSUs after 10yrs since production. sonce you've had the old PC for 9yrs, it's probably at or near end of life and should be swapped just in case of catastrophic failure (which could potentially take other parts out with it). not common, but far more real of a risk than carpet static lol.
@JasonZhao

wait what gpu are you using? Just curious because you seemed to have upgraded everything expect the gpu, also I would've stuck with the 7900x for productivity as the 3d v cores actually make it perform worse in productivity workloads. Other then that, great build
@JasonZhao
21 күн бұрын
Nothing rn for gpu, aiming to get a 4070/4080 maybe. Also you’re right for the 7900x, but the lower temps are important for me in an itx build so I’m not worried about the -1% performance drop
you better use liquid cooler for such small case it will be better

Not too sure of getting the 3D version of the 7900x was the best decision for you. It’s great for gaming, but you take a hit in rendering performance due to its lower clock speed.
@JasonZhao

Yea it’s the tiniest drop in performance for productivity but lowers the temps by like 20 deg c in actual usage so worth it in my eyes!

The myth about the carpet made me laugh🤣 I already built 2 pc on a carpet 🤣🤣🤣
@DeepDownInTheOcean
25 күн бұрын
It's not a myth, but it's over exaggerated. Static from your carpet can travel to your hands and potentially short out a part on your computer, but it's extremely rare. Touching a light switch or petting your pet has a higher possibility of causing that.
@JasonZhao

@JasonZhao
29 күн бұрын
So it was around 55 b it then as soon as I ran anything like a game or editing it would shoot to 70-80 and get to like 85 at the highest which is why I had to switch to x3d. Keep in mind that I’m using a smaller noctua cooler due to itx so with a bigger cpu cooler or aio you wouldn’t see that kind of temps!

Completely disagree, I think the video looks great. If he wanted to change anything, a lens would make more difference than a new camera body. Shoots 4k and inbody image stabilization. A lens is what often changes how a scene looks. But he definitely doesn’t need a better camera and I think these vids look great. And editing also changes a lot too.
