Building life skills over a resume | Harika Reddy | TEDxMLRIT

Being an engineer in India is quite a hassle. So, by being an engineer herself, Ms. Harika Reddy knows what an engineer goes through. With the knowledge that she acquired, she started working for a start-up company as a placement trainer. On the journey to this point in her life, she experienced many things that helped her enhance her skills and also to gain numerous other skills which she shares about in this talk. This is where she realized that engineers can do anything if they put their mind to it. She points out that students choose engineering because they pursue the easiest way to get a job. But she says that they can achieve anything if they put their heart to it.
Harika is a computer science graduate, an alumnus of MLRIT. A trained singer and dancer who is passionate about a number of things under the sun. A dedicated book collector and reader, she has worked as a writer in more than a few magazines and is currently hosting a blog of her own. She has worked for a couple of NGOs teaching children and organizing events for a greener environment. Interest in political diplomacy led her to Model United Nations, which she also initiated in this college and is now a self-claimed MUN veteran. She is a certified trainer from Carnegie Mellon, Mumbai chapter and is currently working as a placement trainer for a start-up with 19 months of experience up her sleeve.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
