Building Junk-Bot City Guardians [Trash Bash / Lid-Bot Challenge]

This Junk-bot Project strays from typical projects as I wanted to participate in a casual online challenge issued by @toddler_dragons. The 'Trash Bash' challenge's goal was to collect and assemble household bits to create a complete model using nothing more than found objects. Influenced by Mobile Suits and Gundam cartoons and models, I manufactured Junk-bot City Sentinels - three-story-tall robots built in the style of two outstanding creators - Crafty Ric and Andy Mecha (links below).
00:00 - Intro
00:20 - Robot One
01:59 - Robot Two
03:30 - Robot Three
05:15 - Detailing
06:24 - Painting
08:18 - Final Images
I had initially aspired to create more structures for the layout, but the scale of most junk makes it oversized for the fine detailing required for N Scale; thus, I decided on robots. The backstory is as follows: robots once patrolled the borders restricting citizen movement, and the Dystopia had become a captive state. After the catastrophic collapse of society, the sentinels, abandoned, now exist as lifeless monuments marking the city limits.
This project was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed meeting new people in the trash-bash/scratch-build community. I appreciate having project variety as it keeps me inspired, and I'm thrilled with the results of this project. I never imaged needing robots, but now that they're on the layout, I can't imagine not having them.

Perhaps these robots played a part in the downfall of civilization on the NSD? That or they were kitbashed together by local tinkerers to protect their turf from other gangs and other threats that roam out in the ruins? Either way, I hope you incorporate these bots into the lore of your layout! As always, another amazing job NSD! :D

My inner talk during this video " what's he going to do with that?" "oh, ok" " what's he going to do with that?" "oh, ok" " what's he going to do with that?" "oh, ok" " what's he going to do with that?" "oh, ok" This was fascinating to watch while trying to guess what you were going to use specific Junk parts for. This kind of model making seems to have a significant amount of 'problem solving' to it. It's really enjoyable seeing what comes out at the end.
