Building I Live Edge Bed!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Build a farmhouse bed and add something unique and one of a kind for the bedroom. Let me show you how to make a beautiful live edge farmhouse bed... the easy way. No router slab jigs needed! And if you don’t want the live edge look you can create any headboard or footboard and use the same method.
For this build I chose walnut for the slabs and I used rustic cherry 4x4s for the legs. The great thing about this build is that you can make it as rustic as you want it!
This bed is made for a queen mattress. If you would like to change the dimensions to fit another size just look up the mattress size differences and adjust your cuts accordingly. Its that easy! You can also change the height of the legs to get the exact look that you're going for!

Beautiful bed. I absolutely love that rustic farmhouse look. I'm glad to see more raw edge furniture being built .. utilizing the wood as nature created it !

Glad I could help! Finding the slabs is the hardest part. I have a local place that will dry them for me. Your best bet is marketplace. But walnut has gone up and getting very high. Just fyi. Good Luck!

I didn’t catch if this bedrooms for your own personal use or for a client, but if his commission job you should always use bed hardware connected rails. Not hard and makes life a lot easier and the cost is minimal anymore. I used to build about five beds a week back in the late 80s and that hardware was about three times the price you pay now. Amazing what China diid👎. They’re not near as good but that’s life. Nice looking bed though.
