Using a 3D jigsaw as a base to build a realistic model. Diy Tutorial
Hello & welcome, It's Shirley 😊
My Daughter loves everything Harry Potter. She had some 3D puzzles for her birthday and asked me to make them into dioramas for her…this is my first one, I hope you like it.

Brilliant. You got rid of the intimidating part of building right from the start. Now I need to find puzzles!

Great work! I made Hugrid's hut myself, and I should say, I almost gave up at the measuring stage already... You've discovered a clever way! I used to collect 3D puzzles when I was a bit younger, if only I had known... Thank you!❤

Yes it is a tricky layout without the floor plan already, I was very surprised how all of these came out, especially Hagrids Hut, although I did struggle with Hogwarts Castle and was not completely happy with that one:) Thanks so much for watching.
What a great way to start dioramas and what a great job you made of it as well.

@@zestvisions i ordered just the kit of a big barn and a old farmhouse. As i do build car models 1-24 scale. I got the airbrush and many tools and paints already. But will need more for the weathering and decoration. But that will come in time. And i will show me my end result to you. I have seen many using laser cutting and engraving machines. Are the easy to use,and are the a good machine to have when i go further with diorama building. My birthday was already. But did,nt got a gift from the miss boss. So maybe with x-mas a machine like that is a nice gift.

@@janvanrenselaar5998 I would love a laser cutter also, maybe I will have one for Christmas also. Good luck
Little critique: your hands cover up a lot of the shot. It's usually a good advice to film what you're doing from the other side. That means film it from above or the opposite side instead of from behind your shoulder, and if you're working predominantly with right, film it from the left. That, or you basically put the camera in front of your face, showing your POV, but then you're always working around the camera

Example, around 10:25 is a good shot, because you're off to the side, rather than on the same side as the camera. It's very difficult to film something like this, but you're doing well

Hi there, thanks so much for the lovely comments. Yes I love Silk Clay it's so easy to use and lightweight👍
Came across your video when looking for reviews on this puzzle, very nice diorama! I have a lot of these puzzles and have been making little changes to make them nicer but nothing as elaborate as this! I have hagrid's hut now too and I was planning to cut out the windows so i can put light in there, same as you. However I was wondering how you turn the light on and off? I was planning on making a hole in the base so I can access the interior easily for the LED tealights I plan on using since there seems to be no way to otherwise. If you don't mind me asking, how did you do this? Looking forward to see more video's like this! :)

Hi Alice, yes I cut a hole in the bottom and used a set of string lights so I could switch them on and off easily. I am just finishing off the Hogwarts puzzle and hope to have this uploaded by the end of the weekend, I would love your feedback on this when its finished :)
Have you tried sharp scissors instead of the knife when adding pieces of the silk claŷ’?

Can you please say the brand and name of the mold you use for making the rocks? I searched on internet and I think its from the brand "Woodland Scenics" but was not sure of which one it is from what I could I see since they have several similar ones. Is it "Rock Mold-Embankments" or "Rock Mold-Outcroppings" maybe? They just seemed ideal for a project that I had in mind.
