The amount of effort put in making this video is tremendous. Kudos to you!!
Excellent Presentation. The walk through of the real world applications and installation brought it all together. Thank you.
HVACR tech here. The clearest, most effective explanation ever given thus far. Appreciate the knowledge
I'm an electrician by trade, have been for the last 15 years or so. I've never got into the BAS controls aspect in the field. But i'm starting to realize that it would be immensely useful to know as much as possible about BAS. It would be beneficial to me and also I've been curious for quite some time now on how it all functions. Your video's are helping a lot. I've started from the first lesson and plan on taking it as far as you go. I became a subscriber today and hope you keep the videos coming. Thanks once again for your valuable time.
These videos are great I have been in residential hvac for 20 years.Iam now trying to broaden my horizons and become familiar with BAS your videos are very easy to understand and informative .I went from being intimidated to feeling very confident this is something I can learn and become efficient at working with .Now to the next video thank you again.
Hello sir, I'm 3 weeks into a BMS system as a Automation Engineer, even though my experience mainly is field work with oil and gas , power gen and automation robotics, the troubleshooting that I've done is what has helped me transition to new automated systems . I went from PLC'S TO, node based architecture, in short your video I've watched at the end of my 3 weeks so far. Its perfect. Good pace, you choose a project that has all the components I deal with now. Thank you. BTW great simulator in lesson 3 . I used to build those.
Great video! We all appreciate your contribution to both the Industry, and the people sitting at home trying to proactively learn this information.

I'm starting to learn on this field. I've been HVAC master technician for a wile and I have serviced units controlled by DDC and neumatics controls... But, the software and logic of it all, is something that I'm learning right now. I really appreciate your series because it's helping me with the understanding of DDC and how it all connects together.
Thank you for the visual with the theory. I can’t wait to see more I’m learning so much better with your illustration
Thank you so much for your help ... I am possibly going into an entry level position in BAS & I love that you showed viewers actual hardware and not just pictures of hardware.

Hi Matt, Yes, I did learn something from the video. For example, section 12.11 - 13.19, where the field installed BAS was shown and how they are fed and connected. Please, do continue to share your knowledge, I really appreciate it. Many, many thanks.
great video, thank you v much. seeing the visuals from in person, then to the online program connects the dots very well. thank you
Great video! I'm currently recruiting for a Building Automation company in Connecticut and I had no idea what I was recruiting for until I saw this video, thanks
Matt just getting started in the subject, AWESOME video!!! It is very helpful to see the actual site and equipment makes understanding the material MUCH easier. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for this, I have been thinking of getting into BAS, I started HVAC 2 yrs ago but I want to move on to controls. Your explanations and visuals were great and on point. This just helped motivate me even more to take the leap.

I work in a utility energy efficiency program. I have a broad energy background but little to no technical background. I am watching your series now and this second video was very helpful to make the connections from what I learned in a HVAC principles course to what is in the field. Looking forward to continuing!
Excellent presentation. I work in cyber security and have to evaluate SCADA systems in my work so these videos are extremely helpful. The detail is excellent.
Thanks a lot for taking the time out of your day to make this video. This was the most insightful intro to BAS video ive seen as we got to see the real life installation and equipment in action, juxtaposed to the schematic and head-end graphics, rather than just a classroom based video like most of the others ive seen. Im hoping to get into the BAS industry in a few years after i finish my HVAC apprenticeship so a video like this is really helpful. Im definitely looking forward to seeing more of your other sites and their BAS systems like this one and then maybe after that a intro vid explaining the different communication protocols and how they work. Also great job in explaining/teaching, cheers!

Excellent presentation. I am working in a huge building and it is very interesting to recognize the differents component of a BAS. Actually we called it BMS.
This fall semester I am taking Building Automation classes for Certificate. This was informative and gave me a good overview of what to expect and prepare for..Great Video
Very helpful. I am doing my first steps in the BAS and need to learn more about it. I appreciate much how devices are connected physically.
Thankyou for putting this together for us. It is really helping with my understanding. I really appreciate your efforts. Thankyou kindly.
Great video, look forward to seeing more. Very helpful!
Great video! I'm a visual learner and I would say is that looking at the actual hardware installed on the end application and review of the schematics could be very helpful to understand and absorb all this information. Usually, schematics is the language we use to communicate this information. Also, selecting the hardware based on the application could be something the potentially will help people to narrow hardware options.
You just made understanding BAS more easier than before
This was very helpful. I'm currently training to be a HVAC Tech but definitely working towards BAS. I would like to see more of these videos. Hopefully following how to troubleshoot common issues.
This has been very helpful. Keep the DDC videos coming!
This was so helpful! More sites would be awesome! schematics and cut sheets were great!

Thanks for your video series, Matt. I'm new to building automation, but as I design/build my new semi-passive heating house, plus pool and pool house, and farm outbuildings (some of which will be heated), I want to incorporate as much automation and internet-based control as possible. I'll spend winters where there are palm trees, and want to be able to have full monitoring and control using the internet. Your videos are a great introduction.

Im now 1year into my role now Lead Automation Engineer, BMS / Insight/ Desigo - PLC/BMS /Apogee integration. Completed Siemens PPCL /Desigo Courses - And this is still my favorite video . I watched it again and now understand so much more. I decided in the last year to get hands on training with my company's amazing facilities crew and have learned so much about systematically approaching the troubleshooting scenarios together we solved many issues . As I have learned from them I have shared techniques from BMS systems with them to troubleshoot. Your video really has helped me gain confidence as well in the way you explained an actual site . Do you have trouble shooting scenarios videos, or some you recommend?
Awesome video, a friend of mine put me onto your content. Personally I would love to see some fault finding and diagnosis. Keep up the great work mate 👏🏼👍🏼👌🏼

Your video was very helpful. You was able to tie the HVAC equipment on site with the design and show how the BAS can be setup to monitor the facility. Your video makes sense of our field. I will ask if you can do this with a bigger facility showing the PLC control panel with a Siemens, Schneider or Rockwell. Thank you
Hi! I just got out of the military and I got accepted for a job at Siemens working with BAS.I did nuclear / electrical work inside the navy. I'm following these videos along with videos from Engineering mindset and wanted to let you know that these videos are great. If there's other references you would recommend I would appreciate it!

@@christiansimpkins6670 Its different. It seems to be very field oriented. I drive atleast 2 hours a day. I fix Building systems for hosptials, stadiums, schools, warehouses you name it. Its nice working with lay folk and doing some good in the world. Its all over the place too. I sometimes click next for program installs all day. Sometimes im on ladders in drop ceilings hunting wires. Sometimes im programming buildings with code - so its not too routine. I have a strong sense of job security and since its not overtime exempt i can always work more if i need more money. I think i get paid fairly well for the area 37$ an hr in houston.

I have never seen a blank plate sensor like that before. It really works at being discrete if I was commissioning that air handler I would be going crazy looking around for the sensor.

Great Presentation
Thank you so much for your help
This was fantastic! I'm new to building automation and really curious what the hardware looks like. I had no idea the blank "light switches" (I thought they were installed by mistake) were actually temperature sensors! I would love to talk to you more about your experience in this space!
hi. Cool stuff. Yes, that was very brief. I would like to go in detail on the schematic, where many little tables aside from each component. Meanings of all acronyms and how all related to everything. If to put differently - I do read many other schematics but this is new, so I need to understand everything looking at the drawing. Simply use medium difficulty schematics and go through everything in many details you can. Thank you in advance.
Well explained ✌️🏽
Very informative (schematics, graphics, and ACTUAL field images) and impressive install. This video did feel very quick or at least felt like a sharp vertical learning curve compared to lesson 1 lol. Also is there any way to have videos on jobs from start to finish showing installs/wiring (step by step process).
Great video 👏👏👏
I really appreciate your videos. It could help me if you can add in the “why” part. “Why” do we have this valve? “Why” do we have this sensor or control? Some of us are really clueless. 😎
Great video-thanks for going through this stuff. Can you please go through the commissioning process for the LONworks protocol? Maybe talk about LONworks vs. BACnet?
Very informative video, puts the BAS into real World perspective. Do you also have projects with chillers or rooftop units? Keep up the excellent work
