Building a Whole New Dash for a Haines hunter 600R

I'm back in the old Haines and in this episode I'm building a new dash console. I'll be raising the dash around 100mm and adding more usable space for the modern screens we all love to have in our boats. sit back, relax, and enjoy.

If you're going to put this much work into a boat you're not going to find a much better hull than the 600R... great stuff mate.

Nice looking dash. I assume you'll be doing a flat back at the transom end too? Will you be doing a bait tank? Following your build to get some ideas for my 565L. Great job so far Mark 👍

How you used thermolite for the dash? I want to redo mine and I was just thinking of using marine ply. Im definitely use thermolite for my transom though

Whats your thoughts on Polypropylene Honeycomb vs Thermalite for a job like this? I'm thinking of doing something similar on my Caribbean.

Personally I’ve never used Polypropylene Honeycomb my self. I’m not sure on how strong it would be for the bulkhead supporting the dash. But it would think it’s fine to use for the dash itself.

Will you put a hard lid as a roof for sun and rain, and acts as a rod holder / rocket launcher too?

I do intend on putting a Bimini and clears with a stainless rocket launcher on her down the track 👍

It would be great if you would modulate the music to the same volume or less than your voice narration. I am listening closely to your monologue and then the music comes blaring on!! Very objectionable. I enjoy your content and build seeing no reason for this computer noise that is called "music". A major annoyance.

Hi mark ,what thickness thermolite did you use in the dash and bulk head please I have used 1 inch coosa for the transom and stringers and using 3/4 for the floor ,I was thinking 1/ 2 inch for the dash and pockets
