If you embed little magnets in the bottom of the plugs and the objective tokens it will be easier to pop them out with another magnet instead of trying to pry them out each time. Prying them out will probably damage the edges around them over time.

This is pretty similar to the table topper I made for my coffee table! I have a regular coffee table and don't have space in my 1 bedroom apartment for a full length table to play DnD with my friends. So I designed a topper that extended the top of the table by about 5 inches on either side to create an outer lip area that my players could put their drinks and snacks and dice in as well as doubling as a rolling tray. This all left the center area which was the dimensions of my actual coffee table surface free for minis. I also made a 1 inch grid the size of the central surface in photoshop and got it printed with a dry erase coating for DnD purposes. And it only cost me about $150 and a day of work. Super fun project.

If you want the most out of your static grass applicator, stick the grounding rig into the glue you're applying the grass on ( I've also found a nail attached to the crocodile clip gets in the way less, than the little four leg unit does) and then get the static grass applicator as close to the surface as possible, when you apply it! Get those bad boys standing straight up!

From experience with model railway baseboards (in the UK it is more common to use solidtop baseboards for model railways, whereas more common to use open frame for us model railroads) it is worth considering ply over mdf if you live in a humid area. Mdf is very prone to warping unless very well supported and treated. Ply is more stable in this regard. My wargaming table will be 2x 3ftx2ft boards of laser cut ply with a ply support frame. It is strong, rigid and lightweight. They were originally ordered for a model railway project, but a house move changed the plans. None of the above takes away anything from the video though.

Made a 40k table in 3 bits so it can do the 3 map sizes. Got 9mm MDF cut to size by B&Q cutting service, similar to Matt I used 34mm X 34mm planned wood to under the edges to give it rigity. Covered in sharp sand and PVA, oven dried the sand and should have sieved out the big bits. Between the boards I inserted aluminium pipe and then wood dowels to ensure the board will stay at the right height when joined. Primed, painted black with wall paint, drybrushed and then ronseal matt varnish. Very hard wearing surface. Finally some little toggle latches to keep together when joined.

Saves of accidentally knocking the cards about and puts them somewhere easy for both players to see

That's great and I like how you considered ease of moving the movement trays. Now that your done if you had made the objective holders have a recess on just under half the width of the token you could have pressed down on that side to pop them up easily without resorting to a hobby knife. Oh well, if it really bugs you you can print an insert and drill them out with a drill the same diameter as the token.
