Building a Turtle Dock & Bridge from PVC
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Just a quick project I did for Franklin, my red ear slider so he has a more comfortable basking spot, and a way to get in and out of the pool on his own!

the part where franklin scratched his shell on the pvc is sooo CUTE
get yourself a man who is this extra with his pets
This turtle was living a life unlike any other turtle had lived before😂😂😂😂, and what a fascinating creature you've chosen to feature in your content! Bravo!
This is fantastic. You really go the extra mile for your animals. Keep being an inspiration for pet owners!
I was wondering how old you are. I've watched several of your videos and I'm really impressed with your presentation and knowledge of reptiles. I look forward to what you bring to the future of the reptile hobby.

Great video idea! 👍👍👍
1:20 Turtle dance woot woot!!! 🐢🐢💜💜
what a nice shell boi
The vid was stil on the add and the like button was alreaddy blue!!
That's awesome
I love this video so much. The part where Franklin is snoozing in the bridge is the cutest. Its so nice to see how Franklin has gotten to be so happy over the last 8 months. Also if you can find water hyacinth turtles love that. You can usually find them at aquatic plants stores. And if you set up a smaller or aquarium where the plants will not be disturbed they will self reproduce. So eventually you can have a constant supply.
Very cool setup!!
Nice vid and I think Franklin is happy about the bridge
You should add some quick fish to the pool, like (rosy red minnows) My turtles used to live in an indoor 55 gallon tank and couldn't catch the fish their, so I'm sure it would work out in your little pond!!
Cool!
youre so creative
Your turtle is so cute when he was sleeping
Your turtle is so social. Love your pool idea.👍
Well done!! This is great!
Very creative idea! Enjoyed the video too, Franklin is like a little puppy basically lol
Some good water plants that turtles eat are java fern and common water weed. These are pretty common and you can get them from aquarium supply stores
Had been thinking of building a ramp and I like your idea ! Thanks.
that’s pawsome! imma try it out for mine tooo 🙌🏻
Looks great Alex!
My turtles loved Duck Weed and mini cat tails. They didn't touch the water Lilly's. And the flowers are beautiful. Also if you put a bunch of minnows or feeder guppies in your turtle will be healthier from the calcium she/he gets from the bones.
Aww he's so cute!!
Goherping is the best channel EVER
It looks like he really enjoys it good job
This is really cool dude!
I genuinely want to be friends with this guy lol 😂
Franklin's a cute little MESS. 💚
This is really awesome. I just hope your carpet doesn't get ruined xD
Your turtle is so calm :)
His turtle is so tame
Bro i love it. In definetly doing this for my turtle
this is so important to me i love this so much..
1:40 "Those toes look yummy" my turtle used to nip at my fingers and that made me think of that comment
What you could do to make the mat you put on there sturdier is to like weave a thin rope on the whole ramp, just by wrapping it over and under between the 2 sides, before putting on the mat
Man we are so trusting of you, if you gave us totally wrong information we would believe you without hesitation. Lol keep up the good work man
you can totally use astro turf and caulk it on top of the plastic material for him to have something to grip onto
What a sweetie! I'm going to build one to go between two ten gallons.
this guy loves u 1:39
Probably should still have something for him to dull his claws on in there

Arachnid Facts I agree this is a good idea. my turtle's docking area is made of wood and i find that it keeps his claws nice while also allowing him easy climbing
What a cutie
Nice very clever.... won't that plastic sheet melt under the heat lamp ?

Righteous Reptiles It's not plastic, at least as far as I know. Looks more rubbery than plastic.
You should get a bearded dragon they have a big personality

Could you do a video on ball python feeding and what size mice/rats they need as they grow? I'm getting a ball python soon and I'm still a little unsure on what type of food I should purchase before getting one. Love your videos btw! They're really helpful.
FYI if you ever want to make more pvc things in the future, get a pvc cutter, should be under $15 and will cut your pipes within seconds

Everybody do the turtle booty dance #turtlebootydance
do another reptile room tour
maybe on the front half of the bridge you can put reptile carpet
He must get water everywhere lol
Hey! I have a question, what kind of tub are you using? I'm looking for something similar for my turtle, meaning pretty big but also safe enough to keep pretty much filled with water in your home. Would really appreciate a reply!
I heard that duckweed and water lettuce make great floating snacks for your turtle and I know that water lettuce is very hardy to care for. Just a suggestion though. Also have you ever thought about giving him a cuttlebone if he doesn't have one already? Those are good sources of calcium and can give him something to chew on. My stupid cousin practically abuses his turtle tippy (adult male lives in a 20L tank, doesn't have anything interesting in his tank and is constantly walk swimming!) and when I gave it a cuttlebone it ate it right up and even tried to eat the fake plants I bought him. That's obviously a telltale sign he doesn't take care of it right and then they get offended when I try to correct him. Ugh. Anyway, just a suggestion.
This is both adorable and highly informative! Very neat, Alex. If you don't mind me asking, where is Franklin allowed to go in your house? I would never be able to do something quite like this just because I'd be afraid of the turtle (I don't have one) going somewhere I can't manage him.

Ah! Very nice. I'm definitely going to steal your general setup (kid pool etc) if I ever do get a turtle. It looks much nicer for the turtle then a lot of the aquarium set ups I've seen.

Nice video! What brand of water conditioner do you recommend?
How do you make your turtles so unafraid and tame? I have two baby sliders atm that I have been taking care of in a twenty gallon tank, and I am planning on getting a small pond set up when they get bigger. But neither of them are as calm as Franklin here. They always like to snap at me. What do I do to help them?
His thicc thigh😂😂😂😂
How old are you btw? So cool that you do something like that for your turtle
what instrumental did you use at 0:59?
Can u make a red eared slider care video i would really like to get one and have a pond just like yours but i cant find any good care video on them.
Can you do a video for sunny's birthday?? I would really enjoy it! (I'm about to get a ball python soon too!!!)
I have two red eared sliders and one mississippi mud turtle. I plan on getting a snake soon. Get alot of inspiration from your channel. :)

Hi, what model filter are you using ? I want to do the same kiddie pool set up for my 2 red ear slider and I don't know what filter to use, they are both 10 years old.

Where is a good place to get a reptile?
That's really cool
Do turtle shells have nerves?
safe eatable plant you can put in is duckweed
How often do Franklin's scales shed? I rescued a turtle and he's shedding his shell scutes very frequently. There's no blood or shell rot, his shell isn't soft and he's still eating and acting normally.

Not often, at most he's only done so twice I think in the past year. I'm sure he did a lot more when he was younger (but I didn't have him then)

Willow Willow Red Eared sliders are not very good beginner turtles. I would personally recommend musk turtles, however turtles and tortoises in general are not very good beginner pets.

The Special Broccoli Okay thanks. I own some snakes already and done some research. Musk turtles are the ones that stay fairly small right?

Willow Willow yeah. Well small compared to other turtles. They also have easier care and are more forgiving. Just note that they get their name from a disgusting smell they emit when threatened so be carefull
Do he/she never escape?
I follow your instagram it's me Sebastian. My sisters account.Im doing youtube about reptiles too.Do mini boa can use paper towel and do they need light source. And also was size tank I need
He is too thicc for the pet stores
eh, turtles are kinda known to eat plants (in the aquatics world) something like pothos that will grow quickly would take the beating nicely, if it was growing from outside the enclosure

Nice just like a engineer
A hacksaw probably would have worked better for the pvc.
I have an urgent question I recently got a ball python and ive started to handle it while i was handling it i put it on my bed to do something real quick in its enclosure when i looked back the snake was moving very quickly and then it fell of my bed and just suddenly stops i never knew why and then a thought it migh have been something i did then the next day when i placed it on my bed it did the same thing i am very concerned plzz answer asap
@GoHerping

Hmm, I've noticed that snakes really don't like being able to hold onto anything, so if they're on a slippery surface, they sometimes freak out and move around because they're basically defenseless without a grip. Maybe it's related to that?

GoHerping ok thank you alot awesome vid by the way
I was just watching one of your older videos that you talked about Repti-safe in and I was thinking that it would be cheaper to use a dechlorinator marketed for fish. I typically use one teaspoon for 10 gallons of water with the brand I currently use. And the directions for Repti-safe say the same thing for 5 gallons. Just thought I would let you know.
