Building A Treehouse In A Beautiful Forest Alone - Part 7: Reaching For The Top
Ойын-сауық
In this series I am building an off grid treehouse cabin in the forest. I build in a sustainable and ecological way in the wilderness and nature. This is episode 7 of The Treehouse Experiment documentary on my channel Building in Nature. The tree house is built in a big oak tree in a beautiful forest in The Netherlands. In this episode the walls are being built and the treehouse is taking shape. The beams for the first floor are installed and the roof structure reaches it highest point. I also experiment with Yakisugi (Not Shou Sugi Ban). Spring is taking over from winter, so the forest looks great!
I’m Ruud. A designer and filmmaker from The Netherlands. I design and make things.
I hope you enjoy the building process. Have a nice day!

If you design a rain collection system, there's your water source for the tree house for the bathroom / kitchen inside, otherwise, you'll always have to haul water up there and basically it's just a box up in a tree. :)

Yes, could be nice! A watering system for the rain will definately be installed in the future.
Excited to see more of you.

Linseed oil is also great on wood
@BuildingInNature

Yes! That is also a very good option. I like the color of tung oil on the woods that I am using a bit better. But that's just a personal preference. I would also be happy with linseed oil :)

In my opinion, you could have taken an ordinary plastic film to temporarily protect the house from the rain. That way it would be cheaper and you would save a lot of plywood. Greetings from Ukraine! 🙂
@BuildingInNature
6 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! I try to find alternatives to plastic if I can, I don't like that somehow it always deteriorates and ends up everywhere in small pieces. But yes, a plastic film would also work. The thin sheets of plywood are used and I got it for free, because they wanted to trow it away. So for this project it is a good solution. Greetings from The Netherlands.

Hi Ruud!
These videos are very well done, editing is lovely and not to mention the cragtmanship is exquisite! Do you have sny idea how much it has cost you up until this point?
