Building a Stratocaster with a bleached Maple Burl Veneer

I have been sitting on this pack of veneer from Veneersupplies.com for a while and wanted to get this going.

Nice strat body, I'm sure it will make sense when it's finished but why did you veneer it before cutting the belly and arm contour? That is a nice veneer I probably would have done it after but it looks like you have a plan, looking forward to the next video.

Looks like this one is gonna be awesome. Do you use something like Clorox to bleach that veneer?

Question Derek... Any particular reason you do the 3/8" round over after the belly and arm cuts? Seems like it might be easier to screw something up doing it after those cuts (I would, anyway LOL). Cheers! Chris.

great vid. are you going to apply veneer to the arm cutaway, or leave it the same wood as the body?

I don't recall if you have a vacuum press or not - but if you're interested in getting one on the cheap see the odd sized bags here: www.qualityvak.com/clearance.html Would have been nice to make that arm cut and then adhere the veneer....

Are you really sanding off the veneer for the arm contour? Oh man! Should’ve did the contour first. Oh well.......

A really other good way to veneer is using the iron method
