Run it in on the dyno Now i dont mean thrash it on the dyno, i mean actually run it in. Use it as a load. Put some time on the engine before giving it hell. That way it wont be shredded before you shred!

Turbo engine needs a reasonably high load due to ring gap etc so run in period is really an old wives tale, put it under some serious load (drive it hard) to achieve a high cylinder pressure otherwise the ringseal will never be achieved. Use mineral oil also.

@@samthesr20man Agree totally But i cant get my head around assembly to rip it at full rpm without bothering to do any run in. I dont mean the old 600 mile or 1000 km and dump your oil twice routine and vary the rpm etc But 15 to 20 mins under a mild load will be wayyy better than nothing. Dump the oil put in new stuff Then rip it. I managed an hour of run time then hit the limiter…

*Starts time-lapse *Eats *Naps *Sees how high the hoist goes *Ends up putting engine in by hand anyway People wonder why Leo doesn't work on machines often? Look what he has to edit lol

When I was 13yrs old , I tore apart a Honda trail 70 motor and transmission , both one unit. To fix 3rd gear. was broken. My Dad walked in the garage and shook his head , said I would never get it back together. With no special tools , I was driving it around the yard the next day. Love watching your videos. Looking forward to the Dyno test , need to guess what HP again !!
