Building a Reed Shelter Waterproof | Cozy and Warm Bushcraft House | Blizzard and Snow I'm Ready. help me understand how clumps of dead grass fronds make for a waterproofed surface. I would be concerned too about fire and my safety. No disrespect, I just don’t understand.

Dry grass is covered in layers plus reeds underneath! Haven’t you watched, please be attentive, because the cane under the net is isolation! Regarding the fire, it is in order, it burns 5 meters from cover! It feels like you're never leaving your apartment.

It's not meant to be permanent. This style of shelter will only surve a short stay out of the elements. It's not waterproof but water resistant. If he made it like an old north American Indian long hut it would almost be waterproof. The Vikings the Celtics you name it used straw and grass roofs to stay dry for thousands of year's. As for the fire I'm going to leave that one alone
