Absolutely great... only one thing off though: the frothing at the top of the waterfall happens because the water crashes into harder rocks at the edge that havent eroded (yet)... but now there's frothing without the water actually crashing into rocks. Otherwise just as spectaculair as ever!

It works for the square habitat, but once it was changed to a rectangle one it had a smaller area: 36*36= 1296m2 vs 24*48=1152m2

Wow the waterfall and the habitats look awesome! And I really love how you tie everything together Also I was wondering if you might be interested in uploading the franchise tips as shorts or single videos at some point. I really do love them and think incorperating them into the videos is an awesome idea. Tho I think it makes it hard to find them again if one would like to look them up again later how it is rn, since they are not mentioned in the title or so and at least I think they are to good to not be used by people.

what I like doing when I split water in between habitats (like a lake or river in your case) is to put at least one or two sections of lattice fence in so the water isn't stuck in one of the habitats but can even out between the two. So rivers can still flow and it feels more realistic than just trap all of the water in one place. Especially if it's supposed to be a river :) I know this comment is late, but maybe people read it still :) Really like this zoo so far and I'm getting a lot of ideas!

Really inspired by the amount of research and thought you put into your builds!! Could you show us how the null barriers are laid out in this cluster of habitats sometime? I’m still a bit confused about how they all fit together to let the capuchins run around. Thank you for sharing :~)

If you pause at 00:38 you can see the layout with the null barriers for the Dwarf Caimans highlighted. The wooden box on the other side of the fake tree is where the null barriers for the Spectacled Caiman are. The Capybara/Capuchin habitat has null barriers around the bit where they live which then extend in-between the two Caiman habitats and then open out again around the Capuchin's raised shelter. So none of the barriers overlap. The Capuchins climbing wires are directly over the 'blank' area between the Caiman habitats and there is clear space between each set of null barriers.

Slight problem. If this was realistic the capuchins might fall in and get eaten. But otherwise this is amazing ❤

Great video! I'm excited to see the next habitat. Do you think using the strangler's fig on your massive 'trees' could give them a more immersive look. They already look like kapok trees from the amazon rainforest. I've just seen footage where the kapok trees have these long drooping vines with scattered bromeliads up there too.

Thanks! I’ve used strangler fig roots at the bottom of those trees but I want to discourage the Capichins from climbing down them so don’t want climbable stuff at the top if that makes sense?

As an engineer that spends a lot of time using .CAD programs, I can tell with confidence that you would make a very good engineer disigner... your ability to manipulate 3d objects is quite advanced, even on a non .CAD program, I bet you could do mine job using planet zoo haha

It's a build that would work perfectly in a jungle dome as well. Now I am rewatching Tekton Zoo and I was wondering how you worked out the designs for each building? Was that something you pre-prepared or you build what comes up in your mind?

All of the builds in Tekton were sketched out first by hand. Typically I would think of what sort of stuff I would need inside the habitat for the animals and then come up with a design that tried to evoke the animal, like how the Binturong Bowl is in the shape of their ears or the Night House is kinda dark & foreboding. Occasionally they were based on real life like the Cheetah Conservation Centre & the Komodo House.

Thank you. For my inspiration I wasn't looking in the direction of animal but nature, but my thought process was similar, let the design evoke the natural feature. Unfortunately I am very slooooooow builder so it can take a while to work it out 😅

Have you played around with tunnels? I've been adding spiral stairs down into tunnels so I can place staff buildings, power, and water units underground. I'm a total newbie so this gives me an easy way to hide these necessities. I'm hoping to eventually create cool underground exhibits and maybe viewing areas for some water habitats.

any tips on convincing guests to visit newer habitats? i have a franchise zoo thats 5 star, $10mil funds, i decided to move some animals around so i could "fix" my front layout, and guests will not go look at their new habitats xD whyyyyyy... they were so popular at the front... i moved them like 2 habitats over and its a ghost town over there....

I pretty much ignore the Continent tag as the animals don’t care much about it. Most of the animals in the zoo are at 98% welfare

Check the animal traversable area heat map, it will show you the escape points so you can fix them
