Building a PARASOL WING fighter in Flyout!!

Ойындар

This has to be one of, if not my favourite aircraft that i've made in flyout to date! Hopefully you can agree! Enjoy!!

I can think of something for both the variants: Parasol wing: in the early 1940s England transformed it into a light attacker, adding an enclosed cockpit for the pilot and a semi-open part for a machine gunner in the back. Store for external bombs and rockets is added Low wing design can be transformed into a high performance, sleek and aerodynamic racing plane mounting a GRIFFON ENGINE

Some ideas for "modernising for production" on the Parasol winged version: 1) Move the guns into the wings and have them out-bound from the reach of the propeller. Also add more of them (6+ 30cals sounds good for the era - but a minimum of 4). 2) Have the wings sweep back, just a little, but enough to be noticable (not curved though, it should to have 'straight edge' leading and trailing edges). 3) Modernise the tail up to at least Hurricane standards. 4) Change the prop to a 3 or more blade design with small individual blades. 5) Utilise the space saved by removing the guns from the body to make retractable front landing gear (always out tail-wheel is still fine). 6) Make allowances for the addition of a tail-hook equiped naval variant. 7) Fully enclose the cockpit. 8) Add a single underslung (under the body centreline) bomb rack - big enough for up to a single 250lb bomb (or multiple smaller bombs) - Underwing mounts not desired due to additional weight-stress (having multiple wing mounted guns is harsh enough as it is).

Stall speed doesn't directly care about weight as stall comes from airflow detaching from the top of a wing which is affected directly by angle of attack and aerofoil shape, but of course increased angle of attack pre stall adds lift so heavier on the same wings means sitting closer to stall by default and heavier may change the aerofoil for the same size wings. It could also be the difference in affect from the body on the airflow + or difference in prop wash affecting stall speeds

The Japanese still had a biplane in use in World War II by the US call sign of “Pete” the Mitsubishi F1M. But were killed off fairly quickly at the start of the Paciic Theater.

The brits used Gladiators to defend Malta, and Swordfish biplanes sank the Bismarck. Italians had Cr 32 and 42, and many navies still had catapult launched biplane seaplanes. Pretty sure the Czecoslovaks and/or Poles used biplanes too.

Suggestions for an upgraded ww2 ready version of the parasol aeroplane: 1)Up the engine power to at least 746 kW/1000hp 2)3 bladed prop. 3)Gull the wings, (see Polish PZL P.11 or P.24 for how this would look) This keeps the general shape of the aircraft but makes them stronger, reduces the number of struts required and improves aerodynamics. 4)Retractable main landing gear, fixed tail wheel is fine. 5)More dakka, ideally not firing through the propeller (The RAF didn't really do that any more by WW2). Two MGs were a good armament in 1917, but not really adequate for 1940. Either more MGs or replace MGs with 20mm cannons. With gull wings you might be able to move the guns up into the wings now they're more firmly attached. BTW if you can't do 7mm, maybe try 12.7 that'd be how .50 cal machineguns convert to metric. Maybe 13mm if the game needs whole numbers? 6)Enclose the cockpit, or at least make the windshield bigger. It's not even up to eye level for that pilot. 7)Hardpoints for small bombs/rockets, let it be a fighterbomber. Parasol wings were good for ground attack as they gave the pilot better view of the ground. 8)Camouflage.

This is really cool, I'd love to see how it would look with floats. I think that the Suction which you were describing could actually be your craft tip stalling on liftoff, due to the ground effect (Ground effect increases stall speed), I've had this issue with some of my other aircraft in the past, and it can be fixed with longer landing gear

  • @jamescarranza420

For ground stability perhaps widening the gear placement and reduce front braking torque and move the bias to the rear so when the planes tail touches down the friction forces would pull the rear down and back when you apply brakes.

It appears that the tipping motion on take-off and landing is a tip stall (not a bug) it is quite common since the last update, easy ways of preventing it is to increase wing tip cord (which shouldn't be more than the root), increase wing tip thickness and/or wash out.

Hey Will, I have an idea for a sprocket video. What do you think of having your audience sending you drawings/requirements for tank designs on your discord, and then you doing them in sprocket to your best extent? This is just a suggestion, but could be interesting, some interactivity!

9:03 I think what may be happening here is you have a higher angle of attack on a tail dragger when the tail is down. So it'll start to lift off but it's still technically too slow to fly level, so if you let the tail come up too soon it's basically stalling out and rolling over.

Why does the propeller spin the wrong way? 😂 and quick tip for the trim: not sure if it works in game, but irl you can angle the engine slightly to the side to help counter the torque or sometimes add a little extra weight to one wing. The wingtip sucking down is basically just the result of the big engine and very big propeller plus a high center of mass
