If you havent talked with Lawrence Tolman (also a youtuber) you should reach out! Big AWD GMT-800 guy.
Those splined driveshafts you referenced are PLENTY strong enough for what you’re doing. We’ve ran those on rock bouncers for years and I’ve personally seen 1000-1500 HP rigs with 43” super sticky compound race tires yard sale their junk on limiter and those driveshafts don’t break. You’ll break a 1450 u joint before the splines break.

Yeah only downside I can think of to staying splined offroad shaft is possibly rotating mass. I'm sure Tom Woods or Adam's could hook him up.
Dr. You are bad to the bone !! We know you help Cleetus, and alot of other racers. It's your turn. I got faith in you!!!!

@@bradthackston5217 Where in the world are you getting those numbers, but Gmt trucks are pretty cheap to build. Fords are far from it.
My new favorite project on youtube.🔥🔥 Can't wait for more content.
Love how you have the dynocology center signage up so everyone knows they are in the right place
Man I am glad you are getting away from the burnout truck and doing an awd setup. That burnout stuff is kind of boring to me.

Same. Burnouts are awesome in the right setting. But burnout competitions are super boring. I love Cleet and the whole crew but won't watch any of that stuff.

I honestly think a burnout is more entertaining than a 1/4 mile that's over with in a matter of seconds. But... Mississippi Queen will live a much more fulfilling life as an AWD Drag truck. And Tune Em all just fits better in the drag racing community.
Super hyped for this build! Keep grinding Nate!
Talk to Stapleton42 he got that tt escalade and knows a lil bit about getting the awd stuff to work
Man i love this build!! Ready to see you lineup with ol cleetus
Man, I'm so glad you saved this truck from getting destroyed as a burnout truck. Also, a Procharger or a Whipple on Mississippi Queen would be sick.🤘
Awd diff with manual tcase will be perfect🤙🏼
they run splined drive shafts on 2000+ HP mega trucks. it will be fine for your application. just have to get a decent one
😮Man I love Mississippi Queen the wrap and the zoomies is SICK!!!
I have some advice. Have your camera man also wear a mic. We have the camera as our eyes so having a mic at that same area as our ears fulfills that fully immersed feeling as if we're there. Then the additional clean and clear talking or narrative audio from the wearable mic blended into the edit as needed gives that professional feel. Then when editing you can use both mics audio or one or the other as needed. A perfect example was pulling the truck in. Listen to the truck before and after the door opens. A camera man mic would have fixed that. I'd also do some audio adjustments to the audio when it gets loud. Just to stop the droning. For example lowering the volume and bass in nates mic in that same shot until the truck was off. You can keep the volume on the camera guys mic normal 90% of the time but turn down the mic nate is wearing until the spots where he's talking. It will blend perfect and sound natural while keeping all the benefits and clarity you get from a wearable mic when your talking to the camera. There's even some other popular editing tricks where the audio of the next scene starts with some B Roll before the actual video transitions. You'll see this alot in reality TV shows. It's a simple method with huge results. As an example. Say theres going to be shot of Nate talking to the camera or working in the shop. Have the audio from that shot start but play some B roll drone shots of the outside of the shop for the first 5 or 10 seconds before transitioning to the video. If your at the track and there's a shot of nate giving his intro where he says where here at Bradenton today to Test the truck. Have the first 5 or 10 seconds of that shot where he's talking be B roll of the track and the truck before the video transition to him. Another example. Say in the intro he says where back here at the track again. As you remember the last time we where here we broke XYZ. Then use B roll of the track and a 3 to 5 second clip of the truck breaking from the last video to add to your B Roll before the video transition to him to finish the intro. Not being a troll at all I'm just trying to help. I've been doing commercial and reality TV editing for 15 years and audio was one of the toughest things to iron out for me. I learned that using little tips and tricks like overlapping the video of a shot with B Roll with the audio playing like mentioned above makes a huge difference. Aswell as blending the audio and volume from multiple mics. Sorry I know this is alot about the audio but I'm passionate about my work and like helping and giving advice where I can. I've been following you for about a year and the quality of your edits seems to get better and better wirh each video. I look forward to seeing the quality of your videos drive you to the top brother! Keep up the great work.
I am a Texas guy, and I like trucks. I enjoy this content.
Back with top-notch videos! The truck will be amazing, keep it up Nate!
Body mounts have there own place! Don’t mix them up! Tallest in back shortest up front
Man cleetus made all these guys, it’s awesome to see!
The slip yoke eliminator should handle the power. The insides would be something to watch out for.
Glad to see content pouring out. This build gonna be sick
Lawrence Tolman has made one or two of these. He’s working on an S-10 variant right now as well as another awd drag truck. A collab with him would be great to see. He knows which tcase and where to source them from too.
Look into a Escalade front differential no, actuator just shaft housing. There is another KZreadr building a truck station rat rods Barry is an animal!
Pull the actuator off and put a factory lug nut behind it and screw it back in. Locks the front diff in permanently. Usually have to do it when they break and I need unstuck.
Killing it bro! Glad to see the videos flowing again
I'm ready for the youtube automotive era of the all wheel drive drag trucks. Bring it on!!
This is going to be a badass truck.
Great content. Can't wait to watch this build unfold. Let gooo Doc!
It looks cool as hell when the motors movin around with zoomies. Deffinatley looks like an eagle. Kickass build nate, love the updates!
I built this exact same thing. Turbo AWD REGGY. Over 70 vids of it getting built. I don't have cleetus fame so it's barely got 100 views. Lmk if you got any questions.
Look fwd to watching the rest of this build series 🤘🏼
Thanks for the audio upgrade!
Audio sounded better before the external mic, just my opinion. I’m looking forward to this build!
There are 3 wires needed on the diff actuator. One needs positive, one ground, and the 3rd when grounded locks it in. Remove power once it is locked in amd it is good.
Let's go can't wait to see it grabbing gears passed Cleetus lol
Let's go DR and crew. Great progress
I've been listening to the podcast with you, Bobby, and Cooper.. you guys gotta do it again, man.. awesome, what you guys covered

How much are the green dogs??? Are they new or used?
The Dr. is in the building!!!
Get a lockout pin for the front end. That will keep the front end engaged at all times or I think you can still find them a manual lockout kit that has a cable and lever to engage and dis-engage the front end.
@buttontooth1
3 ай бұрын
You can get them without a cable also. its just a billet slug that replaces the actuator.
@7:50 when you say, “they was in a hurry it looked like,” are you implying that your beds off a stolen truck? 😂
This is badass..... Love it Nate. I'll be watching
You might want to talk to Lawrence "LT" Tolman at Tolman Performance. He's currently building an AWD Big Block Silverado on his KZread channel and can give you a good idea on the parts needed.
I think this channel has finally caught its niche loving it
Thanks for Sharing 👍👍✌
starting to look good. btw everyone should go watch the Dr TuneEmAll and bobby's interview on coop's podcast, super interesting behind the scenes of what they're doing.
Definitely following this. Gonna start ours soon...
About time you join the 4x4 side 🔥🔥
Nate,you rock! Peace ✌️
This build is going g to be amazing!! Appreciate you and the team doing it!!
Cool truck...cool 😎 project...
As a Michigan man. I hate you for how easily this thing is coming apart.
Splines shafts are used on 1000+ hp rock bouncers with 43+ inch tires. Pretty sure it’ll be plenty strong for your application. I however would be concerned about vibrations from the slack in the splines and really high speeds
Front diff is a thermal actuator. Basically just pushes on a shift fork and ring to lock the stub shaft out of the carrier into the axle shaft
Would love to see that chassis all boxed in before that body goes on,easy money right now
You want to keep that slip yoke eliminator. A regular slip yoke will break easier and with the way these awd trucks hop around with hood traction probably loose the slip yoke out of the transfercase
Great Progress!!!!! Should be sick!!!!
More about the e36 m3 in the background please.
Good thing you didn’t get Cleeter and Squirrel to help with the cab swap. Could have been a very different outcome 😆
Stroll on Nate, welcome back!😂
Gonna be a sick truck🔥
Yes more nitrous builds!
You don’t need the whole front differential for all wheel drive you just need the front passenger side axle tube assembly
Great content 👌
Its probably not worth it in the long run but The Doc being a LS guy, it would be bad ass to see one of those 500+cu in LS engines on a 400shot! 💪🇺🇲
Hell yeah it’s time to show these feeerrrd guys how’s it’s done!
This is def the best build for the truck. Burnout trucks/cars is pretty plaid out already.
The front driveshaft holds up pretty well. I have a tt 5.3 sand drag 92 blazer same transfer 241c that goes forward to a Dana 44, that we launch at 4000 w 6 lbs and it’s on paddles and we haven’t broken a front driveshaft. Using the same flange style you have
Cool project! New sub.
KA KAW, you know like an eagle😂
I hope your editor never removes your candid moments like not knowing the camera was rolling at the start haha
Comment for the algorithm. Keep it up Nate you're doing great ✌🇦🇺
Opening the headers exit hole up makes it so you can take the headers off without removing the front quarters
In the four-wheel drive world our drive shafts would be Double Cardan. And like you said, the slip splines would be on the drive shaft itself. However, you can make that as strong as you want. probably stronger than the transfer case. No also that it will be parallel at all times. Not needing to be as strong
Just lock the actuator in 4wd and shift it in and out of 4wf at the tcase only. Been doing it since 2018 on my turbo deal. Mostly street driven
@renoslica4021

It will remove a point of failure, and you won't ever have to worry about shift issues.
10:54 CA CAWW *mothafucka* 😂😂
Help a fella out, subscribe, comment, share the video...
Hear me out. Twin turbo, boom tubes out the fender with screamers out the hood. The fire balls from a rowdy 2 step would be perfection
Hey man yall need to check out patriot mud bug in Eastaboga Alabama. They're in the process of building a dirt fast track!!
0:41 you can convert the 4wd diff to AWD you just need the passanger side housing and axles
Get one of them twisted/ tow truck motors from ol Cleet!
Nice!
I bet there's guys from up north drooling over that frame. I used to work with a guy that inherited a '99 that looked brand and new.....until you looked under it, the frame looked about like an '84 Toyota.
think changing the cabmounts would be the least amount of work getting everything to line back up , maibe make solid mounds using aluminum pucks (talk to sam at cleetus place , he can probably whip those up if you give him the measurements you need ) for dragracing you probably need to put a cage in the truck so the solid mound would make it eazier to tie that cage intoo the chassis and close the holes in the cab floor back up without having the cab moving around the cage
So dope
Hey if I were you, I'd make a support mount for the T case. All that power will twist it and brake the case. Make a mount to support it
So cool
I laughed at the noise you made @10:55
Looks like a hammer head shark with put the fenders
You should speak to LT Tolman on this swap
Can't wait to see Mississippi Queen take down the blue F150!
have cleet help with editing like you help him and you will be right there!
Can’t wait!!!
My trucks an earlier body style but I have a posi lock psl600 it's a cable that screws into the dif and mounts in the cab to push it to engage the dif it works well no electronics
Check into to 4x4 posi lock for the front diff its a manual engagement for the 4x4 i bought mine from summit
I dig the new audio
Your new time-lapse music is good. And are you adding more bars to the 4wd chassis after you cut the other ones out??
For the headers as little they need to go down just cold bend them all as is on block
badass, can you just put the body mounts off the two wheel drive frame to drop the body?
I believe summit or jegs sells billet piece for the front diff to stay awd instead of the solenoid
