I’d add 45 degree angle plates in the corners or cross strapping before it gets enclosed with the remaining structure. The twisting forces are going to be quite large and over time will weaken the structure even with the cover material added.

WOW those walls are huge. The wind is really going to have a major effect on your shallow draft barge. You will definitely be using your bow thruster A LOT to counter the winds. I assume you will be adding some diagonal bracing to prevent any front to rear or side to side flexing. Good job.

We have welded various tubes closed and it is always surprising that they are not water tight . Even though the welds look good. Over time water gets in and rusts from the inside out. You may want to check you welds to avoid this problem Cheers warren

For anyone trying to frame a large structure by yourself, a good assortment of tension/ ratchet straps is a huge help in getting things lined up and square before the final weld/ bolt/ nail. And as demonstrated here, also a big help in getting heavy or awkward beams/ posts/ tubing into place with only one set of hands. I'd place them only slightly behind clamps for handiness on big jobs.

To keep your weld pure, maintain gas flow for a second or two at the end of the weld bead. Until it 'skins over', the weld puddle can absorb contaminants that can compromise the join.

It would also look a bit more "ship like". In the Netherlands you will not be welcome in most places with a square house boat.
