    i looked this up due to the fact I had an idea on how to make an electric bike that doesn't require power and can charge 100% using just the pedals. i believe it will work just need to test it when i can build it.

    With a bike you could potentially generate far more power. You could run a PC with that.

    Given a stepper motor with two coils that are driven 90 degrees out of phase (most stepper motors) it is possible to wire the coils in serries and get a higher output than each on its own. Although you can't simply add the two voltages, you can use The vector phase difference amplitude of 2 coils with the same output but 90 degrees difference is 1.414 × that of one coil on its own.

    Exactly, gear differentials my man. Throw a big ass gear on the crank and a fairly small one on the shaft and you can trade out resistance for RPMs

    If using the right generator on a bike (but still small sized), what RPM will it need to reach in order to ouput the same W and Amps as the phone's normal charger? -- so that we can charge the phone in 2+ hours, same way the normal charger does.

    Depends on the exact generator type, but in general (regular speed) phone charging uses about 5W of power. Most people pedal at 100+W on a bike, so plenty of power would be available. If your generator is geared/rubs against the tyre it can operate at very high speed compared to the bike wheel, potentially allowing for impressive output from a small device (higher speed = better power density)

    Maybe it's possible to rapidly charge a supercapacitor with a large generator and then use the stored energy to charge the battery.

    One can full bridge rectify each phase off a two coil stepper motor add a capacitor across its + and - outputs. Which Smooths the outputs and temporary stores power. Then connect the - of bridge_recitfyer_1 to the + of bridge_rectifyer_2. The doubled output is then taken from bridge_recitfyer_1 + and bridge_recitfyer_2 -.

    If one has to spin their generator a bit too fast to get useful voltages, they might want to use a full wave voltage doubler that: 1) rectifies the AC to DC. 2) doubles the peek AC to DC voltage - diode voltage drop. 3) Smooths the output voltage. It's easyer to google full wave voltage doubler but here's how to build it. Get rid of the 2 bridge rectifyers and get 2 diodes per phase. Lastly, you'll also need 2 capacitors. Full wave voltage doubler. 1) Connect the coil_output_A to both the anode of diode_D1, and to the cathode of diode_D2. 2) Connect the cathode of Diode_D1 to the + terminal of capacitor_C1, and connect the anode of Diode_D2 to the - terminal of Capacitor_C2. 3) Connect coil_output_B to the - terminal of capacitor_C1 and to the + terminal of capacitor_C2. 4) Voltage doubler output is taken from the + of capacitor_C1 and the - of capacitor_C2. Both phases can share the same same capacitors.

    Can you add a small solar cell and add both type of power at the same time?

  • @Teknopottu

    @Teknopottu

    Yes, you could. A small solar cell is putting out little power but if left on a window, could charge a small power bank if given enough time.

    @@AKIOTVone more thing, is there any difference while cranking the Motor without the phone connected and with the phone ? Like is it hard to crank with the phone connected?

  • @AKIOTV

    @AKIOTV

    7 ай бұрын

    @@Nate-oi7ri It is harder to crank with the phone connected. Many people assume that a generator turns easily no matter the load, but a generator is harder to turn as more power is drawn. The laws of physics always apply: if it makes more power, you need to put more power into it as well. If you geared it so thw weight falls slower, it produces less power and run for longer. But the energy supplied per fall of the weight is unchanged. The potential energy in a weight is m x g x h, so dropping 10kg from a height of 1m gives 10 x 9.8 x 1 = 98J of energy. A phone battery holds about 36000J of energy, so you'd have to re-lift the weight 368 times for a full charge.
