Back in the day I had a 1300 block with a 285 Piper cam a local tuner said I over Cammed it but it worked very well and piper distrubtor 1600 gt head flowed to match the gaskets with a 28/36 Weber you can change the chokes on 28/36 Weber chokes snd jet to suit and lightened flywheel and tuned exhaust to suit it gave many a 1600 a surprise

I always tuned 13's awesome motors , would rev to 9k with right timing and carb set up (had 9k out of a single 3ltr capri dgas on a 13,) hills man long hills was where 16s and pinto engines would fk me .

I have watched your video countless times and I also use it as a guideline when I was building my engine. Respect

lol. at 4:16 I thought "He's putting the piston in upside down! Should be interesting." Otherwise that was great. Brought back many memories.

A great engine. I've re built my mk2 Escort 1600 sport engine twice one re bore and a freshen up over haul a few years ago (I've had the car for 14 years). but a nice easy motor to work on.

A8 cam works well, old cosworth profile that's if you know what that is.

A8 will let the engine rev until it blows up. I would have a custom cam designed by fast Eddie Griffiths and made by Piper Cams. Kent Cams are never a success ( always an issue with them... Wrong springs, Caps or whatever)

@@gj91471 wow, how come? I recently had a Kent Cams kit bought. Very expensive compared to newman cams. Wich i have good results with. I had chosen kent cams because of their profile wich suits my application. for new project.

@@gj91471 ok, thanks for the information. I hope to have some luck then, because Kent Cams still seem to be big in Motorsport? I do know about Piper, they had not the right profile for me, and could not deliver followers and springs. Just the camshaft. I had issues with camshaft and other make of solid followers before. It was 500 Euro damage. So reason to get to Kent cams was because of the whole package deal ( suitable profile as well ) from one company. I do not know Mr Griffiths, i am from Holland.

just slow it down and tell what you are doing. then every mom would be repairing engines instead of knitting socks.

Your 30years too late mate!!! I started as an engine builder with these, and then mass hot rod engines and then ford zvh and then cosworth.
