Me too!!! 😅
I am buying starlink. The maritime or whatever it is now. It has that expensive dish. 2,500. I read it is way more rugged,4 times more powerfull etc etc. Hopefully . I am usually 6 months in locations with no internet. So plan to activate and pause as needed. I have waited for this internet in the middle of the ocean and its here now. Awesome

Sounds great, when it’s working it’s simply awesome. I am noticing as I get further north it’s dropping out more often though. There’s less satellites available the further north you go.
Interesting that you've mounted the frame directly off your existing rear guard rails......that's giving me food for thought .

I’ll be adding tensioned wires going fore and aft to hold it steady as a rock and also pull the whole thing down to reduce any lifting force on the push pit in strong winds. Will all be in the next video 😁

Works really well. The pushpit is mounted really solidly so Is a perfect base for building from. Mine has been used in 48Kts of wind so far and is still solid. Well worth the effort.
My question is, structural strenght and integrity....due to the amount of weather thats going to affect the arch. Would have melded the pieces instead.

Could have, but i wanted to be able to remove the entire structure in the future. I have added some further strengthening and its solid as a rock. Will cover the details in the next video :)
Well I posted a link to what might be your starlink problem yesterday evening and I can see my post but no one else can as I've used a different account to check .....thank you youtube shadow banning....youtube are a disgraceful platform. Anyway as I can't link search another sailing youtube channel called alluring artic sailing and look for the starlink video he did just 2 days ago.....might be your problem too...

The dish was broken, dead as a dodo. They have replaced it now and all is good again… although I pray it never breaks or I’ll be stuffed for at least a month.

@@sailingonadream That's great that you are back up and running. I imagine demand is outstripping supply and their support systems are struggling. I guess there are always quality control issues on new products....let's hope the new one is from a better batch.
biggest mistake was using a fish eye lens camera everything looked bent , also where the parts links?

Thats gopro for you. The steel was all purchased locally and the fixings were all off ebay, but you can also buy them all on amazon and various other places... kzread.info/dash/bejne/aZqbpJJye7fZmKg.html&lc=Ugyp2UK9YNg74pwOa5J4AaABAg
Ours cost about A$6800. But it was an insurance repair/replacement and did include a seat frame and deck fitting. I was fortunate to get a very skilled guy to do the work. Not all companies are that good. Today I reckon it would be at least A$8000. Then there is the waiting list!

Ouch! Not something for the “on a budget” cruiser. Then there’s the cost of panels, mppt’s and cabling.

@@sailingonadream Then there was the canvas cover that went under the panels. I was not surprised to see the canvas trimmer turn up in a Rolls.
