Building a Custom PETERBILT 379...DAYCAB Conversion

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This old Peterbilt has been sitting for 5 years and we thought it was too cool to not rebuild it and get it running! Not only are these trucks getting harder and harder to find, but these trucks have all skyrocketed in value! What do you think...??

Personally I would leave it full length. After seeing it in front of the trailer. Get some nice deck plates and dress it up, it will look amazing with the new pipes 👍

I think you'd regret shortening the frame. It looks damn good, like that. Maybe ADD some length, if anything.

Awesome man!!!! Day cab company does it again! They really do some quality work. I think the overall length is fine, maybe shorten it a small amount when the cut off goes on. Definitely some drop panels and nice fenders. Keep is clean and simple. Great progress as always from you boys. 👍👍

Great video. 👍 Whatever you do. Don't cut the frame. Someday you might want to put a 36 or 48 inch bunk on. Smaller diameter tanks and removing the steps will help. Some nice deep half fenders and 7 inch pipes will get her looking good. Just Saying. 🇺🇸 Keep up the Good Work. ! 👍🏆

I like long wheelbase. But, you probably should decide how long depending on what you'll use the truck to do, eh?

Some Hardwares have extra long Pallets for Bathtubs or Hot tubs ETC we use a long pallet and Bolt or strap the sleeper to the Pallet. Then it's stable and easy to remove from the Truck and a easy storage platform for body work or otherwise

I was wondering if y’all ever run into electrolysis when hucking the Peterbilt skins together that y’all get from truck shrouds since they are not coated in the Peterbilt grey coating? I just redid a hood and a whole sleeper that I got from John from truck shrouds. The painter told me that electrolysis will start since it’s aluminum skins on steel hucks. Just wanted to know y’all’s thoughts.

If you’re not using the extra frame space, you don’t need it! I’d go with smaller tanks and shorten the wheelbase.

Leave it longer, if you shorten the frame 20 to 40 inches you get a lot worse ride. The shorter the frame the choppier the ride is

Because they plan on painting the truck, they don't want a half ass paint job. Remove the sleeper and then everything is painted.
