Building a Cozy Cabin In The Woods I Start To Finish
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In 2023 I build a guest cabin at my off-grid homestead using mostly super sustainable materials like wooden fiber insulation, offcuts from the sawmill and oak logs for the pillar foundation. The windows are produced locally with wood from a forest nearby. Since all the wood is non-toxic and natural I use the yakisugi-method (burnt wood method) for some of the wood. I also use linseed oil to give it a protective and flexible membrane agains moisture. I made the terrace with used terrace boards from my neighbour.
Music:

Thank you😊It’s to protect the wood from rotting by burning the sugar and fungal spores in the outer layer! It’s an old method - when they dig out old viking settlements here in DK (and maybe northern America?) they can see where the poles stood, because there the burnt wood is still intact😊👌In japan they call it yakisugi or sugi ban
How many cm. , a thickness of wall or insulation , 15 or 20 cm.? And what name of oil , did you cover of the charred log and boards ?

@@andersboisentinyhouse thanks for your reply 😊🙏 3 months of dedicated work for a beautiful outcome. Are you looking one day at having other people living with you on the land as a community?
