At 0:36 I don’t think Marcus knew the can of worms he was opening with that question. 😂 On a more serious note, this video has a lot of valuable information. I really liked the ball throwing drill. Thanks!

I’ve been following Marcus for the past 3-4 years he is without a doubt in my mind the best swing coach on the planet…I’m a 51 almost 52 year old ex scratch marker who lost his way who could only dream of getting a lesson from him especially since I live in Australia…great video Brendon I’ve also watched your channel for a few years love what you do.

Monte talks about proper pelvic movement on the downswing is the left hip going away from the ball, not the right hip going towards the ball. This laying down drill at 24:00 really encourages this and definitely engages the right foot more when in a golf stance.

Really liked this right foot exercise for firing the turn better. Produced very nice shots on the range. The downside was that it felt like I was only doing downswing and gave me less confidence in the back swing. One thing Brendan, the difference in accuracy with the left backhand throw compared to the right forehand, might be the same issue as you have with left hand only wedge shots as compared to right hand only.

I accidentally found out another way to feel this is by just making swings with your rear foot on a platform raised 2 inches off the ground or so. I feel like this affirms what I was feeling.

It's easiest to feels this movement with the right hip by practicing half or three quarter back swings. Feel like you are trying to tear the mat with a much shorter than normal backswing. You'll find that you can hit the ball about 90 to 95% of your normal distance without a full backswing. Start shorter to ingrain the feel, and then you can extend it as needed. If you're using the ground effectively, you'll find that a shorter swing is more consistent for strike, launch, and efficiency, which is the goal (especially with irons). An overly long hand path leads to problems using the lower body effectively and consistently in my view.

Completely agree with the basic concept of using body awareness rather than conscious thought. I would then, though, minimize all the excess information and details about moves and positions as it moves the mind right back in trying to consciously understand the swing.

First go read the first half of page 93 in Hogan’s 5 Lessons (This is the foundational principal to Hogans swing). Then smoke some peyote just before you go practice at the golf range (This will clear your mind and allow you to explore). Then try to feel the weight of the club head throughout your entire full swing (At first try to feel the weight of the club head as the backswing moves into transition and beyond). Then think about what Hogan was attempting to convey in the first half of page 93 (You will need to reread it several times as you focus on Hogans highlighted words). Best of luck….. I just gave you the keys to a Lamborghini.

Get a kick out of “do the wrong way” Like he’s has a right way after 15 years and literally hundreds of different coaches and methods!!! Gee is Branden wandering around looking for this and that while Marcus is talking… seems familiar… Sorry of perceived sarcasm. This is the poster child for how to improve golf thru every conceivable different idea ever available to golfers. Stay tuned for next week’s adventure.

*Marcus is facing a challenging situation with his wrist action and slider hips, which is affecting his overall perception of performance. Additionally, he seems to have a limited understanding of rotational balance dynamics, which is crucial in his sport. It's unfortunate that he has encountered this issue despite having access to over 50 coaches. Moreover, his glutes, an essential muscle group, have never been properly activated, further hindering his progress. Marcus definitely needs some good luck to overcome these obstacles and reach his full potential. Knowing Marcus is dedicated to fixing this issue at work, but I highly doubt that the recipient will hold onto it. It's unfortunate, but true. Here in Whittier.*
